X Level Archetype (11/?)

First things first: This is my first attempt at making cards that are intended to be actually serious, I already made cards in the past, but they were semi-serious at best.

The basic idea behind this is to modify the Levels of your monsters - mostly increase them - to make them stronger or give them specific effects.

I also am not familiar with english Yu-Gi-Oh wording, I wrote everything based on what I know from the german wording and tried to adapt it to the english language.

You can Tribute up to 2 Monsters on your side of the field in order to Normal Summon this card. If you Normal Summon this card: This card's Level is increased by 2 for each Monster you used as Tribute. This card's ATK and DEF equal it's Level x 400.

When this card is summoned: Banish up to 4 Monsters from your graveyard. This card's Level equals the number of both players' banished Monsters x 2 (max. 12). This card's ATK and DEF equal it's Level x 400.
When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard: Send all banished monsters to the graveyard of their owner.

When you want to Tribute Summon this card: you can Tribute 3 cards instead of 2 and if you do so: This card's Level is 12.
This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Level x 400.

This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Level x 400.
Once per turn during your Main Phase: You can either increase or reduce this card's Level by 1.
If this card's Level is above it's original Level: Destroy it during your End Phase.
If this card's Level is below it's original Level and if your opponent controls monsters: The number of attacks this card can do (besides it's normal attack) equals the difference from it's actual to it's original Level.

This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Level x 200.
As long as this card is face up on your side of the field: Increase the Level of all "X Level"-monsters by 2.

qb3ItsM.jpg

This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Level x 500.
During the Standby Phase: You can increase this card's Level by 1.
If this card's Level is 6 (or higher): Destroy it during your End Phase.
If this card's Level is 8 (or higher): If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing damage to your opponent. If this card would get destroyed: Banish it instead.
If this card's Level is 12 (or higher): This card can attack twice in the same Battle Phase; This card's ATK get's reduced by 2000.
2 "X Level" monsters of the same Level (max. Level 6)

This card's rank equals the Level of the Xyz Material attached to this card with the lowest Level attached to this card (If an Xyz Material doesn't have a Level, it is treated as Level 1). If this card doesn't have any Xyz Material attached to it: This card's Rank becomes 4.
This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Rank x 500. Increase this card's ATK and DEF by 200 for each Xyz Material attached on it.
Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Target 1 "X Level" monster on your side of the field: Increase the targeted card's Level by the Level of the detached Material.

3 "X Level" monsters of the same Level
This card's rank equals the Level of the Xyz Material with the lowest Level attached to it (If an Xyz Material doesn't have a Level, it is treated as Level 1). If this card doesn't have any Xyz Material attached to it: This card's Rank becomes 6.
This card's ATK and DEF equals it's Rank x 400. Increase this card's ATK and DEF by 200 for each Xyz Material attached to it.
Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase 1 or Battle Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Target 1 "X Level" monster on your side of the Field: Increase the targeted card's Level by this card's Rank; During this turn's Main Phase 2: Reduce the targeted card's Level by the doubled amount of it's increased Level amount, caused by this effect.
During this turn's End Phase, if you didn't detach Xyz Material using this card's effect: Detach 1 Xyz Material attached to this card (if possible): Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the detached card's Level x 100.
I have some adjustments in mind, for example that they cannot be used as Synchro/Xyz Material except for "X Level"/"X Rank" Monsters, I want to do something with Xyz anyways (not sure about Synchro).

edit: changed the topics name from "X Level Cards" to "'X Level' Archetype" to prevent confusion.

Update 23/02/2015: updated "X Level Golem"

Update 02/03/2015: small correction on "X Level Zombie" (Serial Number was the same as "X Level Dragon"); Added Xyz monsters

i just hive 1 consern for "X Level Golem" it's effect makes it kinda pointless, "if this card's level is 6 (or higher)... if this card's level is 8 (or higher)... wouldn't you want that card be on the field longer, but i understand that if it's lvl6 it will have 3000 ATK, and it would be devistating if it could sty longer, and it ould only last 6 turns with the manditory level riseing

That's a good point there.

Well, the trick is to try to find ways to increase it's level on other ways than it's own effect (X Level Fairy/Up/Trade/more to come(?)). If it could reach those Levels (and effects coming with them) by it's own it would maybe be a bit too strong combined with that high ATK it'd have on high levels (On Level 10, it'd be piecing damage with 5000 ATK, for example). On the other hand it'd need to survive a lot of turns in order to reach that stage, if it's just by it's own of course.

The thing I thought about changing is maybe from "During your Standby Phase: Increase this card's Level by 1." to "During this turn's Standby Phase: You can increase this card's Level by 1."

@Saintor: Yeah, I realized that too after some time. ^^'

i came up with a (resonably) balenced spell called

"X to the 10th power"

spell (normal)

target 1 "X Level" monster you control, change the targeted monster's level to 10 until your next standby phase after activation, if the targeted monster has an effect that would destroy itself durring the end phase, it is not destroyed. durring your next main phase 1 after activation: decrease the level of the targeted monster to one. you can only activate 1 "X to the 10th power" once per every 3 of your standby phases

you can change the spell to make it fit with the theam of the X levels

That's a pretty good idea, though I guess that (if I make it) I'll probably either change the "if the targeted monster has an effect that would destroy itself durring the end phase, it is not destroyed." part or that the effect wears of at the end phase of the turn it was used in.

Otherwise I think it's a bit too much, considering it's an instant 4000 ATK in most cases.
