UltimateIRS
Basically a complete overhaul of battle mechanics. Under this rule, when a monster attacks a monster that is in Attack Position, apply the attack target's DEF for damage calculation. If the attacking monster's ATK is higher than the attack target's DEF, inflict battle damage to the opponent equal to the difference, then destroy the attack target. If the ATK is equal to the target's DEF, destroy the attack target. If the ATK is less than the target's DEF, take damage equal to the difference. The attacking monster is not destroyed. When a monster attacks a Defense Position monster, apply the same rules as always for attacking a Defense Position monster. After that, if the attack target is not destroyed by battle, the opponent is permitted to declare an attack with the attack target against the monster that originally attacked. In this case, apply the appropriate rules depending on the battle position of the monster that originally attacked. Just to clarify: If it is in Defense Position and is not destroyed by that battle, you are not permitted to declare an additional attack with it. Discuss implications for optimal play. .Rooster
DEF always mattered. Even somebody who only knows one thing about Yugioh would agree. No thanks, this would just mess up the balance of the game.
