Hello all. After watching the show I've spent time fooling around with creating custom archetypes all contained in a Google doc; this is one of the longer ones that resulted after months of adding to said document. Balancing is probably not very existent, but I'm still rather proud of the idea that went into this.

"Doomspore" is based after the zombie epidemic trope; Monsters in your opponent's Graveyard become XYZ Materials for Doomspore XYZs. Most of the cards are based after grotesque and mad science elements. Later, fuelling from the same concept, "Doomspore" Counters were added to offer an attempt at differing playstyles.

If this face-down Monster is attacked, the current Battle Phase ends, and this monster is Equipped to the Attacking Monster as an Equip Spell. While this Monster is Equipped to your opponent's Monster, your opponent discards 1 card from his/her deck during his/her Standby Phases. When that Monster leaves the field, your opponent loses 1000 Life Points.

If this Monster has a "Doomspore" Monster as a Material, it may attack your opponent directly, and you may switch it to DEF Position after it attacks.

You must control this Monster to activate and resolve this effect.

If you do, you may detach additional Material Monsters from XYZ Monsters you control; your opponent Special Summons a Synchro Monster from his/her Extra Deck to your side of the field whose Level is equal to the sum of the detached Materials’ Levels. If your opponent has no Monster that fulfills this requirement, you draw 1 card.

- Shuffle that Monster into your opponent’s Deck.
- Send that Monster to your opponent’s Graveyard, and pay 1000 Life Points.

Its effects are negated, its ATK and DEF become 0, and it cannot be Tributed, destroyed by battle or used as Material for a Synchro or XYZ Summon.

Once during either player’s Battle Phase, you may detach 1 Material from this Monster; a Monster that attacks or is attacked by this Monster has its effects on the field and in the Graveyard negated, and is destroyed before Battle Calculation. A Monster that is destroyed in this way is Special Summoned to your side of the field during the End Phase.

While this Monster has no Materials attached, you may Tribute 1 face-up “Doomspore” Monster you control; target 1 XYZ Monster on the field, then attach it and all its Materials to this Monster as Material Monsters.

Once during either player’s Main Phase, you may detach 1 Material from this Monster; it gains 100 ATK for each “Doomspore” Counter that was placed during this game.

When you XYZ Summon this Monster, discard all Material Monsters attached to its XYZ Materials. This Monster cannot be Special Summoned in other ways. This Monster cannot attack, or be destroyed or Banished. During each of your Standby Phases, detach 1 Material from this Monster. If this Monster is attacked, attach 1 random card from your Graveyard to this Monster as a Material after the Damage Step. If this Monster has no Materials, your opponent's Life Points become 0.

Doomspore Apocalypse

Target 7 “Doomspore” XYZ Monsters in your Graveyard. XYZ Summon 1 “Doomspore Countdown Cannon” from your Extra Deck, using the targeted Monsters as Materials.

Doomspore Autocide
Spell
Pay 1000 Life Points. Send 1 “Doomspore” Monster from your hand or side of the field to your opponent’s Graveyard. Until the End Phase of this turn, the Levels of all Monsters in your opponent’s Graveyard are equal to that of the “Doomspore” Monster you sent to your opponent’s Graveyard.

 

Doomspore Awakening

Pay 1000 Life Points. Then, Set 1 "Doomspore" Monster from either player’s Graveyard.

Doomspore Brainjacker
Spell/Continuous
You may XYZ Summon “Doomspore” Monsters using face-up Monsters on the field, as long as that Monster has “Doomspore” Counters on it equal to its Level or Rank.

Doomspore Clone
Spell/Continuous
During your Standby Phase, you may place 1 “Doomspore” Counter on this card you control. Once during your Main Phase, this Monster may be treated as a Material Monster when you XYZ Summon a “Doomspore” Monster, where its Level becomes equal to the number of “Doomspore” Counters it has. An XYZ Monster that uses this card as XYZ Material gains 200 ATK for each “Doomspore” Counter it had.

Doomspore Cross Contamination

Place 1 “Doomspore” Counter on a face-up Monster that isn’t a Zombie-type Monster. Then, place 1 “Doomspore” Counter on all face-up Monsters with the same type.

 

Doomspore Crypt

Once during your Main Phase, you may Normal Summon a "Doomspore" Monster from your Graveyard. If you do, pay 1000 Life Points.

Doomspore Culture

Whenever a “Doomspore” XYZ Monster has Materials detached from it, increase its ATK by 500.

Doomspore Directive
Spell/Quick-Play
Tribute 1 “Doomspore” XYZ Monster you control, then Special Summon as many of its Material Monsters as you can on your side of the field in face-up ATK Position. Those Monsters are treated as “Doomspore” Monsters and cannot be used as Materials for a Synchro or XYZ Summon. Until your next End Phase, those Monsters may attack your opponent directly.

Doomspore Dystopia
Spell/Field
During a player’s Standby Phase, place 1 “Doomspore” Counter on all face-up Monsters, except “Doomspore” and Zombie-type Monsters. Then, that player takes 300 damage for each “Doomspore” Counter on each face-up Monster they control. If this card would leave the field due to another Field Spell or card effect, you may discard 1 card from your hand; negate the effect, and destroy the card.

Doomspore Euthanisation
Spell
Pay 1000 Life Points. Then, target 1 face-up card with “Doomspore” Counters on it. Destroy it, and place its “Doomspore” Counters on cards on the field in any way you like.

 

Doomspore Exhumation

Do 1 of the following:
- Send 1 “Doomspore” XYZ Monster from your Extra Deck to your Graveyard.
- Return up to 2 “Doomspore” XYZ Monsters from your Graveyard to your Extra Deck.

 

Doomspore Infection

Pay 1000 Life Points. Then, select 1 Monster from your opponent's Graveyard with the same Level or Rank as a XYZ "Doomspore" Monster on the field, and attach it to that Monster as a Material.

 

Doomspore Infestation

Until the end of this turn, reduce the Level of all Monsters in both player's Graveyards by 1.
 

Doomspore Laboratory

Whenever an XYZ Monster attacks, detach 1 Material from it before the Damage Step, unless it is a Zombie-type Monster.

 

Doomspore Protocol

Until the end of this turn, you may pay 1000 Life Points when you XYZ Summon a “Doomspore” Monster; if you do, you may use Monsters on your side of the field as Material Monsters. XYZ “Doomspore” Monsters you Summon this turn gain 500 ATK.

Doomspore Regurgitation
Spell
Tribute 1 “Doomspore” Monster on the field. Then, select 1 XYZ Monster on the field; detach all its Material Monsters, and negate all its effects until the end of your opponent’s next turn.

 

Doomspore Total Mindwipe
Spell
Target 1 Material attached to 1 “Doomspore” XYZ Monster you control. Then, attach all cards in either player’s Graveyard with the same name as the targeted Material to the same “Doomspore” XYZ Monster as Materials.

 

Doomspore Transplant

During your 3rd Standby Phase after this card’s activation, Tribute this card; for each “Doomspore” Counter that was on this card, target 1 Monster in either player’s Graveyard, and attach it to 1 “Doomspore” XYZ Monster you control as a Material Monster.

Activate if a Special Summoned monster's attack or effect would target a "Doomspore" Monster you control. Pay 1000 Life Points, negate the attack or effect, and destroy the Monster. Your opponent can't Special Summon during his/her next turn.

Activate whenever your opponent gains Life Points. Increase the ATK of all your face-up “Doomspore” Monsters by the same amount, until your next End Phase.

Doomspore Assimilation

Activate when your opponent attacks a “Doomspore” XYZ Monster you control. You may make that attack a direct attack instead; at the end of the Damage Step, equip the attacking Monster to the targeted Monster as a Material.

 

Doomspore Averse Reaction

Activate whenever your opponent gains control over 1 Monster on your side of the field. Send that Monster to your opponent’s Graveyard instead, and your opponent takes damage equal to that Monster’s ATK. While you control a “Doomspore” XYZ Monster, you may attach the destroyed Monster to 1 “Doomspore” XYZ Monster you control as a Material.

Activate whenever a card(s) would be Banished; send that card to your opponent’s Graveyard. Then, if that card was Banished by the effect of a card on the field, Banish that effect card.

Activate whenever a Monster is sent to your opponent’s Graveyard, except from being destroyed by battle. Until your opponent’s next End Phase, your opponent can’t Special Summon Monsters from either player’s Graveyard.
