Seanoow
I'm posting this card here because I think people will say this card is overpowered even though I don't think it is. I can see this working in a psychic deck, as well as other trap-centered decks like Uria. (Image is from a tower defense game for Blackberry) When a monster your opponent controls declares an attack, you can pay 1000 lifepoints to place a "Rocket" counter (max. 5) on this card. Then, you can activate the appropriate effects according to the number of "Rocket" counters on this card: 1-Reduce the battle damage you take from that battle by half. 2-Target one Trap card in your deck, set that card. Banish it when it leaves the field. 3-If a monster you control was attacked, that monster is not destroyed. 4-Target one trap card in your graveyard, set that card. Banish it when it leaves the field. 5-Negate the attack and destroy the attacking monster. This card can not be destroyed by card effects.I don't know if it would be better to make this card trap-oriented or battle oriented. (reduce opponent's attack, increase your's etc). Thoughts? Fukato
So then the card effects listed only work when you put "Rocket" counters on it? It would be useless after the 5th counter has been placed if thats so. I would say the card would be more of a joke than an overpowered card until 4th counter has been placed till after the 5th counter has been placed. It's too vulnerable to wiretap, msts, etc until of course the 5th counter... but then again like i stated before wouldn't it be useless after the 5th counter because of the clause "you can pay 1000 life points to place a "Rocket" counter on this card. THEN, you can activate..." meaning the first effect has to resolve or activate for the second effect activate the list of effects. Otherwise rewording that card effect to an appropiate effect like OPT will grant it its worthy of being an stupidly (too good) overpowered hell of a trap. Seanoow
I was trying to think of something different than cards like MF and ScrapIronScarecrow. MF "stops" one attack x the number of monsters destroyed, and scrap iron stops 1 attack every turn. So with this card it is vulnerable, but can do what scrap and MF can't do, stop multiple attacks in a single turn and/or a couple turns. Definitely this card should not be able to activate its effects more than 5x because as you stated that would make it insanely over powered. Vulnerable, yes. But if the attacking monster isn't destroyed my MF, or there is more than 1 attack per turn, this card will protect you where those other two will not.
