Subonito
LORE: "Meteor Dragon" + "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" or "Summoned Skull"You can only Special Summon "Archfiend Black Meteor Dragon(s)" once per turn. This card is unnaffected by your opponent's card effect as long as your opponent has more total cards in their hand and their side of the field than you do. During damage calculation you can shuffle 1 Normal Monster from your Graveyard into the Deck: the ATK of this card becomes the double of that monster ATK until the End Phase. During either players turn, you can discard 1 "Red-Eyes" card: draw 1 card. You can only activate each effect of "Archfiend Black Meteor Dragon" once per turn. I hate the fact that the Archfiend Black Skull Dragon killed the 'pseudo-vanillas' Red-Eyes Fusion Monsters (and they did the same with the BLS Ritual), but i hate more the fact that they didnt do a new version of B. Meteor Dragon. Red-Eyes still have a lot of holes in their support and play style, particularly the constant lack of cards to play after some small combos, but thats a mark of their game (they spend a lot of cards easily but they beat your opponent with strong monsters and burn damage). For that reason I made this card having a condition to its auto-protection effect based on that problem of the Red-Eyes, as long as you're in disadvantage of cards your beater will press your opponent really hard, this way the card is not broken because your opponent can 'negate' this effect by playing smart. (there always need to be a reason for a card protecting itself or at least a condition) As the Skull Dragon had a burn damage I thought of giving to Meteor Dragon an ATK Boost effect (just for not making 'more of the same') and continuing with the recycle of vanillas for future fusions. Talking about vanillas: the fusion materials for Meteor Dragon are the specific ones, its easy to make a Fusion Monster good by just making the materials as generic as it can be, I don't see that as a good change for Fusion Monsters, actually, I see that as laziness from Konami. Its not like there CANNOT be good Fusion Monsters with specific fusion materials, you just have to think a little more. I chose specific materials for the dragon not only because of that, but also you need to suffer for playing this card: its a strong beater, so, you need to feel the pain of running Level 6 and 7 vanilla monsters (not that much for Red-Eyes, but Summoner Skull and Meteor Dragon... oh boy). Also, to add some cause and consequence effect to the card you can choose if you want to summon it with Red-Eyes (giving you a 4800 beater and a better monster to play around in your graveyard) or Summoned Skull. (5k beater but a worse monster in the graveyard) And this makes the card playable outside Red-Eyes too, its good to have that kind of variety. OBS: it was strange to make a Level 8 monster that is better than a Level 9 monster. B. Skull Dragon (lv9) was weaker than B. Meteor (lv8). Go figure...
