zombie/effect

If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, shuffle that monster into the Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle and you would take Battle Damage, you can shuffle this card and all the cards in your hand into the Deck instead.

The first effect can be good, but we already have Merrowgeist which can do that (and Merrowgeist has better ATK, better artwork and the effect is optional), the last effect is the worst, it doesn't even let you redraw the hand you just shuffled, meaning you can lose many cards just because of this little guy here

Indeed Zombies like the Graveyard. However, the anime works a bit different from the common logic.

In case you don't know, Bakura (one of Yugi's enemies, and holder of Zombies and Phantoms) was using a strategy that could only work with an empty Graveyard. So, all his monsters had effects that were based around this strategy (for details of the duel, see Episodes 215 to 218 and the corresponding Wiki info).

As for the card itself, the first effect is very good and the second one is a bit of an emergency action, maybe appealing for Infernities and similar Decks (although they can do better with other cards).

Merrowgeist and Lightsworn Ehren. There are others as well, but they send the monster to the top of the opponent's deck.

The last effect is optional and usually too useless, so nothing bad with it. Except that it's pointless to add a very shameful effect to a card. It could be errata'd though, letting you draw 1 or 2 cards but with a min. required amount of cards to shuffle into the deck.

Well it isn't called 'Disgraced Mage' for nothing.  This card is a disgrace, since it pretty much empties out all of your resources quicker than Localized Hurricane.

Not really since the second effect is optional and the first one can be useful against certain cards you'd rather not let your opponent get in the grave.
