Abaddon
Ok, here is the first duel, with no apparent storyline. Don't worry, that will come in my next post. And yes, there will be some Create-A-Cards in here, but only occasionally, for example entire decks will not be made out of them, but if I need something to happen in a duel, I'll do exactly what the TV Show Makers do, make up a card :P Anyway, without further ado, here is the first chapter of Duel Monsters - The Grip of Chaos! His red hair was like fire, styled into almost the shape of a flame. His eyes, though a murky brown showed determination that almost made them appear flaming. His clothes contrasted those particular two appendages, as they were a deep ocean blue. This, combined with freckles that were spotted all over the fierce look on his face made him look like a misfit, though one of incredible rage and focus. His gloved hand wandered to the right of him slowly, his eyes focused forward. With lightning quick dexterity, his hand was brought back in front of him, bearing five cards backed the Duel Monsters symbol. Looking at them, he grinned to his opponent. Across from him was a dark-haired boy of about 18, the same age as him. His face bore none of the ferocity or determination of his opponent, and was almost empty, and definitely emotionless. Either he didn?t want to give anything away to his opponent, or (as his opponent, rival and friend knew) this was his usual expression. Unlike his friend?s blue clothes that showed some semblance of life, the grey and black garb of his opponent looked almost dead. As he followed suit drawing his five cards, though instead of the Duel Monsters symbol, there was a clear black background, as they were in cases. ?So Matt-or should I say, ?Abaddon?? Who goes first?? A small grin was surprisingly evident in the black-haired boy?s face.?Well Matt, or rather ?Dive?, why don?t we decide by a dice roll???Sure.? Was ?Dive??s reply. Reaching inside his jacket pocket, Abaddon retrieved a single die. He threw it across the table in front of him, again expressionless. 6.?Looks like I win.??Fine?? replied Dive, disheartened. ?Let me just see what I would of got.? He snatched up the die and quickly rolled it. 1. ?Oh crap.? ?Now that wasn?t a very good idea now was it? I?ll go first by the way.??Sure?we?re playing 4K right? No stakes???Yeah, we?re playing 4K, but no stakes? You know I need that extra Sillva.??I s?pose?but what are you putting up for stakes???Hmmm, how about two Oxygeddon?? The redhead smiled when he said this.?Definitely!? He almost shouted.?You ready???Yeah.? Abaddon drew a black-backed card into his hand. Barely wasting three seconds studying them, he made his move. ?I activate the spell card, D-Spirit.? He placed the card face-up in his Spell/Trap Zone. ?Which allows me to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or Lower Destiny Hero monster to my side of the field, if there is no monster on my side of the field. And I choose to Special Summon, Destiny Hero ? Doom Lord!? This did not at all surprise Dive, he had used this technique several times before at the beginning of the duel, and was already expecting another Summon seeing as that card was Special Summoned. ?I then Summon ?Diamond Dude? to my side of the field, set 2 cards face-down,, and end my turn. ?Heh, you?re so predictable ?Abaddon?. Like I don?t know that one of those face-downs is D-Shield. But fortunately for you, I didn?t draw Mystical Space Typhoon or Heavy Storm this turn, so you?re saved.? Abaddon didn?t make any reaction to Dive?s prediction. ?Getting on, I then play the Field Spell Umi, and Summon Mermaid Knight to my side of the field!? Abaddon almost flinched. Almost. ?Now, I attack your Destiny Hero ? Doom Lord to set off your trap first of all.??I activate D-Shield.? He turned his Doom Lord to DEF position. ?I think you already have realised this, but you can?t destroy it as a result of battle.??Yes I did know that. Now I?ll use my Mermaid Knight?s second ATK to destroy your Diamond Dude!.??Not quite.? Dive looked shocked. ?I activate, D-Chain! Now I?m sure you haven?t seen this one before as I only got it this morning. It becomes an equip card as soon as it?s activated, and I choose to equip it to Diamond Dude. As an equip card, it initially increases it?s ATK by 500! Which means that your Mermaid Knight is destroyed!? Dive went to note down the Life Point loss, but Abaddon stopped him. ?Wait, D-Chain has a second effect. Whenever a monster it?s equipped to destroys a monster as a result of battle, a further 500 damage is dealt to your Life Points!? Dive then proceeded to note down the now increased Life Point loss.?Do you end???Yeah I guess?Wait! I set one card face-down, and THEN I end.? ?Good. I draw!? After studying it for a couple of seconds, he placed it in his hand. ?Hm, I think that card is best saved for later. Either way, now is the time for action! I attack your Life Points with both my monsters!? Dive grumbled. ?Fine.? He noted down 2500 damage, before asking Abaddon whether he ended. ?You underestimate me Dive, I play Clock Tower Prison!? ?Ohhh crap.? ?Then I end.? Dive begun to sweat as he drew his next card, muttering a few words of prayer before drawing his card. Both of them took their duels very seriously, and neither one wanted to lose, especially seeing as they were surrounded by spectators. They tried to duel as though it was just normal, both trying to ignore the fact they were in the final of the regional tournament and about 50 people were watching their duel. Despite all this, Dive?s expression changed when he saw his next card. ?I play Hammer Shot! Which destroys your Destiny Hero ? Diamond Dude, D-Chain going with it!? Abaddon glumly placed the two cards in the grave. ?Next I play two face-downs, one monster, one spell/trap. And it?s your turn.? Abaddon drew, that one card currently making up his entire hand. ?First, add a counter to Clock Tower Prison? he said smiling. ?Hmmm, I think I?ll take a chance here. I attack your face-down with my Doom Lord.? Dive smiled and flipped it over. ?T.A.D.P.O.L.E!? What the hell kind of a card is that? 0 ATK, 0 DEF?? blurted out Abaddon in surprise to Dive?s grin, though it continued even after he said this.?It?s got a neat effect. When it?s destroyed I search my deck for another and add it to my hand. But before all that, I activate my Trap Card: Next to be Lost!? He flipped his face-down over revealing an image of a bunch of fairy monsters flying on an open sky. ?With this card, by selecting 1 face-up monster on my side of the field ? T.A.D.P.O.L.E. in particular because you flipped him face-up with your attack ? I can send 1 card of the same name to my Graveyard. What would be the point of this? Well, you?ll see.? He then proceeded to search his deck and took two more T.A.D.P.O.L.E.s out, placing 1 in the Graveyard and 1 in his hand. ?Fine. That?s all, I end.? Was Abaddon?s reply. ?I draw!? Dive swiped a card of the top of his deck and added it to his hand, grinning still, and this smile getting wider when he looked at the card he drew. Without even adding it to his hand, he placed it down. ?I summon Beelze Frog in ATK position!? Said Dive, placing the card face-up in ATK position. ?And it?s effect gives it an extra 300 to it?s 1200 ATK for every T.A.D.P.O.L.E. in my grave!??Ah, now I understand why you wanted those weak monsters in your grave.? Smiled Abaddon.?You haven?t seen the full extent of their power yet.? He said with a wide grin. ?Anyway, now it?s ATK is up to 1800. But it?s not done going up yet. I play?Back to Square One!? He virtually threw done a spell card depicting a playing board. ?I discard 1 T.A.D.P.O.L.E. from my hand to the grave.? He paused here to let it sink in to Abaddon. ?To return Destiny Hero ? Doom Lord to the top of your deck!? Abaddon placed the card as he said on the top of his deck, cringing. ?Now, that my Beelze Frog?s ATK is up to a whopping 2100, I attack you directly!? Abaddon noted down the particularly large life point loss before Dive ended his turn. ?I draw. And what a draw it was! I play Eternal Dread! And now my Clock Tower Prison has 5 counters on it adding the extra one added in the Standby Phase between drawing that card and playing. And now Dive, you?re screwed. You can?t touch me. Which is why I don?t need to summon a monster, and I end my turn.? ?You call me screwed? You?ve made 1 Critical Error.??And what?s that??Messing with frogs. I tribute my Beelze Frog to Summon Des Frog! And with it?s effect I summon another 2 Des Frogs from my deck! But I?m not done there. With 3 Des Frogs face-up on my side of the field, I activate, DES CROAKING!!!!! Which destroys all cards on your side of the field, including Clock Tower Prison!??Crap.? He sighed. ?Fine. I Special Summon Destiny Hero ? Dreadmaster! And with it Destiny Hero ? Diamond Dude, and Doom Lord. Which brings it?s ATK to 2000! Luckily 100 points higher than your Des Frogs.? He smiled.?Damn.? Cursed Dive. ?Just a miscalculation. This duel isn?t over yet.??Let me consider that for a second.? Abaddon barely paused. ?Yes it is. Do you end???Yeah, I guess?? replied his opponent in a disgruntled manner. ?Good then?I draw!? He did so. ?Aha! I told you it?s over. Time to meet your demise!? Dive looked shocked. ?I tribute Dreadmaster, Diamond Dude and Doom Lord to Summon?DESTINY HERO ? DOGMA!!!!!!!!!??sheet.? Was Dive?s last word.?You take a final 1500 points, finishing you for good.? Dive pulled his deck together, pulled the paper of his pad and threw it behind him. ?I guess you win this time ?Abaddon?. But you won?t win next time.? He stood up, pushing his chair over behind him. Only taking a second to draw Sillva, Warlord of Dark World out of his pocket and throw it on the table before storming out.?He never was a good loser.?
