[Written] The Swarm on the Water - Aquasect Archetype

To summarize in a short term - these WATER Insects are similar to the Yang Zing as they grant buffs to the Synchro Monsters they are used for though in place of floating, they have in-hand effects and can Synchro in the hand. The Main Deck monsters are named for the different kinds of water beetles while the Extra Deck get their names from other aquatic/semi-aquatic insects.

 

Aquasect Hydroscaphid
Attribute: WATER

Type: Insect/Tuner/Effect

DEF: 0
Text: When using this card you control as a Synchro Material for an "Aquasect" Synchro Monster, you can use "Aquasect" monsters in your hand as non-Tuner Synchro Materials. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Normal Summoned this turn: Return this card to your hand.

Aquasect Meru
Attribute: WATER
Level ** (2)
Type: Insect/Effect
ATK: 800
DEF: 800
Text: Once per turn: You can reveal this card from your hand; Add 1 "Aquasect" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Aquasect Meru".  A Synchro Monster that used this card as a Synchro Material is unaffected by monster effects.

Aquasect Gryini
Attribute: WATER

Text: When using this card you control as a Synchro Material for an "Aquasect" Synchro Monster, you can use "Aquasect" monsters in your hand as non-Tuner Synchro Materials. When an "Aquasect" monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard, while this card is in the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card, and if you do, banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Aquasect Gryini" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Aquasect Halipid
Attribute: WATER

Text: Once per turn: You can reveal this card from your hand; draw 1 card, then if that card is an "Aquasect" monster, you can reveal it and Special Summon it. A Synchro Monster that used this card as a Synchro Material is unaffected by Trap effects.

Aquasect Noterid

Text: Once per turn: You can reveal this card from your hand, then target 1 "Aquasect" monster in your Graveyard, except "Aquasect Noterid"; Special Summon that target in Defense Position. A Synchro Monster that used this card as a Synchro Material gains 100 ATK and DEF for each non-Synchro "Aquasect" monster in your Graveyard.

Aquasect Dytiscus

Aquasect Water Scorpion

Aquasect Water Spydebeet

You can only use each effect of “Aquasect Water Spydebeet” once per turn.

Aquasect Water Yanma
Attribute: WATER
Level: ******* (7)
Type: Insect/Synchro/Effect
ATK: 2500

Text: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Insect-Type monsters
You can send 1 “Aquasect” monster from your hand to the Graveyard; this card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved. During the End Phase, if you control this face-up card: You can add 1 “Aquasect” card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Aquasect Water Yanma” once per turn.


Aquasect Swarm
Attribute: SPELL
Type: Normal Spell
Text: Add 1 “Aquasect” monster from your Deck to your hand. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 “Aquasect” monster from your hand in Defense Position.

Coral Carapace
Attribute: SPELL
Type: Equip Spell
Text: Equip only to a WATER Insect-Type monster. Twice per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can reveal 1 “Aquasect” monster from your hand; add this card to your hand, but skip your next Draw Phase. You can only use this effect of “Coral Carapace” once per turn.

Glacial Carapace
Attribute: SPELL
Type: Equip Spell
Text: Equip only to a WATER Insect-Type monster. Twice per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can reveal 1 “Aquasect” monster from your hand; add this card to your hand, but skip your next Draw Phase. You can only use this effect of “Glacial Carapace” once per turn.


Aquasect Molting
Attribute: TRAP
Type: Normal Trap
Text: When an “Aquasect” monster(s) you control would be destroyed, you can Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster in Defense Position instead (Insect-Type/WATER/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 0). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field. You can only activate 1 “Aquasect Molting” per turn.

Aquasect Depth Strike
Attribute: TRAP
Type: Normal Trap
Text: During the Main or Battle Phase: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster using “Aquasect” monsters you control or have in your hand.

the concept is cute, yet they have some serious sheet that must be fixed, first of all they have access to Ice Barrier Synchros, and it's easy as hell since tuners allows you to use any number of Aquasects in your hand as materials, also, there is halipid: it has a 'regenerated' +1 (draw) effect, so that makes it another "Pot of Greed", which is hilarious (baaaad)! also Meru, it's another 'regenerated' +1 (ROTA), in a deck that has access to Trishula, BIG NAAY! same with other Aquasects that has "reveal me" as a cost!! (except Dytiscus and Amphizoa, they're ok) I don't really find it an actual, plus thay have no hard OPT clause, means thay can lead to some serious sheet

I really don't know how to fix this, maybe the first thing you should do is to avoid Trishula (yeah I know it's Limited but still it can do some serious sheet, especially in this deck)

 When using this card you control as a Synchro Material for a WATER "Aquasect" Synchro Monster, you can use "Aquasect" monsters in your hand as non-Tuner Synchro Materials.

Also try to find out another cost for the "reveal me" aquasects (non-tuners), maybe a discard or excavating your top deck your top deck as a cost instead

but anywho, the concept itself is neat, it just need to be nerved-down
