Steelswarm Support Cards

Turns out there isn't much Tribute Summon decks, and I never liked monarchs. And Steelswarms had such a nice potential. Sigh...

Anyway, with these cards, I have a couple things in mind:
- Linking the deck a bit more with the rest of the "Lswarm" monsters. I mean, at this point it wouldn't make a difference if they were completely unrelated archetypes. Even if they have different playstyles, the cards here try to give a reason or a couple means to try using a few of either no matter which variation you are playing (spoiler: its a R4 that "connects" them).

- Shifting them away from that UTTERLY BORING "frognarch" playstyle. C'mon, is there a lazier way to make Tribute Summons consistent than to create a monster that summons itself for free every turn? It just limits possibilities so much.

And here are the cards:[spoiler=Steelswarm Support]

Steelswarm Centipede
Level 4 - DARK - Fiend/Effect - 800/1900
When this card is Normal Summoned: Add 1 "Steelswarm" monster from your Graveyard to your hand, then you can Tribute Summon 1 Level 5 or higher Fiend-Type monster during your Main Phase this turn, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) When a tribute summoned "Steelswarm" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; that monster you control gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only.

Steelwarm Impurewing
Level 4 - DARK - Fiend/Effect - 1600/1800
When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Add 1 Level 5 or higher "Steelswarm" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can banish this card from your Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Lswarm" monster from your Graveyard. You can only use 1 effect of "Steelwarm Impurewing" per turn, and only once that turn.

Steelswarm Flea
Level 4 - DARK - Fiend/Effect - 1200/1500
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by returning 1 tribute summoned Fiend-Type monster you control to the hand. If this card is tributed for the Tribute Summon of a "Steelswarm" monster: Draw 1 card. You can only use each effect of "Steelswarm Flea" once per turn.

Steelwarm Darkfly
Level 1 - DARK - Fiend/Effect - 400/200
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by discarding 1 "Lswarm" monster from your hand. When this card is tributed for a Tribute Summon: Add 1 "Infestation" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand.

Steelswarm Nightmantis
Rank 4 - DARK - Fiend/Xyz/Effect - 0/2550
2 Level 4 "Lswarm" monsters
Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Add 1 Level 5 or higher "Lswarm" monster from your Deck to your hand, then you can Tribute Summon 1 Level 5 or higher DARK monster during your Main Phase this turn, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.)

Steelswarm Hellbettle
Level 5 - DARK - Fiend/Effect - 2200/0
When this card is tribute summoned by tributing 1 "Steelswarm" monster: You can pay 1000 Life Points; shuffle all monsters on the field that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck into the Deck. During either player's turn, when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s) from the Extra Deck: You can return this card to the hand; negate the summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s).

[spoiler=Comments]

The R4 is probably the most interesting of these support cards. To summarize, it should both allow you to include a couple Steelswarms in R4 spam Evilswarm decks, and it gives a decent reason to play Evilswarms in Steelswarms decks. There NEEDS to exist a card like that. Seriously.

Also, as you can see, these cards bring lots of ways to Summon the tribute monsters in a single turn (which Tribute decks NEED to be viable), without having to rely on a single card in your Graveyard to do the same play over and over and over again (god, I hate that playstyle).

The Steelswarms cards presented can also be used decently in Evilswarm decks (the Level 4s, of course), thus they are also useful in any of the variations even if you find yourself without the Level 5+ ones (more reason for the R4).

And dunno if this was obvious by looking, but I don't really like Steelswarm Mantis (thus the tribute one above being a "substitute" for it). It seems like it was made to support a playstyle completely different from tribute summon. Sure, you can do some plays with it and caller, but I'm quite sure anyone looking to play Tribute Summon decks would rather have monsters bringing more impact by themselves instead of relying on combo plays (let this to the ED plebeians).

Well, if you asked me, I would probably say that Hellbettle is slight overtuned by what it is, but I couldn't do it any weaker to make it a worth addition (mainly to keep up with existing stuff). Gotta love ED hate (but no floodgates pls *shivers*).

Yeah, I also wished to make summoning Hercules viable (the card is way too cool), but I would need way more support cards and scrap a bunch of the existing ones. I guess someday.

Steelswarm support... Damn it, can't look at this without my opinion of your work rising, even if the cards suck. And since you're in a contest I'm judging... Damn it.

Anyway, I need to be quick so:

Hellbettle sounds like it'll be hell for a lot of things, and makes Steelswarm mire dangerous by making it a specific Trieverr.

Nightmantis: Fulfilling both searching and swarming duties is Roach's better brethen. Nice, and boy do I mean that.

Darkfly: More searching! Pandemic, a couple of reviving cards... Lots of good targets for this guy to search, and you can send Scout/Cell to the graveyard for later use (Though neither of them are great).

Impurewing: Oh, so this and Darkfly are meant to.. Oh I see *grins*. Plus activates when tributed or detached, correct?

Will review the rest later.
