NXT TakeOver Dallas Match Card and Preview

It's finally upon us! The last TakeOver before Wrestlemania! There's some really GREAT matches that could go either way! Let's take a look at them and I'll give my thoughts on each match up!

 

Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura is making his WWE NXT debut against, arguably the best product to come out of NXT, with the exception of his longtime friend/rival Kevin Owens. I imagine this will be Zayn's NXT exit with him being featured just days later on Wrestlemania. I expect Nakamura to go over here, but WWE has surprised us in the past (NXT TakeOver: London, I'm talking about you!) I expect a 5 star match from these two, then Zayn to give another 5 star match at Wrestlemania (be looking for that preview later tonight)

 

Bayley © vs Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship

These two ladies will tear the house down, will it be better than Sasha/Bayley at TakeOver: Brooklyn? Probably not, but it'll be right up there with it! Bayley has held it for 220 days as of this typing. Will she make it to Charlotte's reign of 258? Probably not, but I predict if she drops the championship to Asuka at this event, that just a few nights later on the Monday Night RAW after Wrestlemania that she will be getting called up to the main roster. I'm expecting just that to happen, so my pick to win is Asuka.

 

The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) © vs American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) for the NXT Tag Team Championships

American Alpha is FINALLY challenging for the Tag Team Championships! Will they win? I honestly am not sure, I cannot get a good read on the tag team title picture for NXT but it's gonna easily be Dawson and Wilder's best match to date!

 

Couldn't find an official match up picture for this match, so I went with this one

Apollo Crews vs Elias Samson

Why is this match happening? I honestly think Samson will end up just being a jobber with this gimmick. Crews going over, end of story.

 

Austin Aries vs Baron Corbin

Austin Aries will make his televised WWE debut against Baron Corbin; one I hope gets called up to the main roster shortly after this match happens. I think Aries will go over... but again (looking at you TakeOver: London!) you never know with WWE. This match will deliver and Corbin will make Aries look like a star whether Aries wins or loses.

 

Finn Balor © vs Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship

Balor is another one who I think will be getting called up to the main roster very soon, as soon as the night after Wrestlemania with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows in tow to form the rumored Bulletproof Balor Club! So I think we will see Joe get his first championship since signing with WWE on this night!
