My Lightsworn Deck

Recommended Posts

Well, I decided to try my hand at a deck using the new Lightsworn monsters from Light of Destruction. I want to be able to fit another Draw Engine to it to increase speed. Any advice on that front would be greatly appreciated. (The Threatening Roar's would most likely be the first cards cut to make room for any adaptations.)

Monsters: 23

3 Judgment Dragon

3 Lightsworn Dragon Gragonis

2 Lightsworn Angel Cherubim

3 Lightsworn Summoner Luminous

3 Lightsworn Beast Wolf

3 Lightsworn Paladin Jean

3 Lightsworn Hunter Raikou

3 Lightsworn Warrior Garos

Spells: 10

1 Smashing Ground

1 Heavy Storm

1 Mystical Space Typhoon

1 Monster Reborn

3 Monster Reincarnation

3 Solar Exchange

Traps: 7

3 Illusion of Flashing Light

1 Mirror Force

1 Torrential Tribute

2 Raigeki Break

No offense, but I'm not sure you understand the way this deck is supposed to work. Having a higher number of Lightsworn increases the chances of Garos' effect paying off. 3 Luminous is a must, as she is basically a Zombie Master for Lightsworn. She is actually even more versatile, as she can discard Spells as well as monsters.

Card Trooper in this deck is a joke, we have more than enough mill here. I have 3 copies of Illusion of Flashing Light here in addition to Reborn and Prem for a reason. We're obviously going to mill through a few copies of Gragonis. He'll have plenty of ATK and piercing damage to boot. He's part of the swarm win condition.

You've got the Reincarnations there, that's good. You can retrieve milled Judgement Dragons. Judgement Dragon can nuke the field before you restart your swarm and attack with 3-4 monsters. (Note, he is pretty much a seperate win condition from the one involving Luminous swarm or Gragonis. Illusion won't be able to help with him.)

lol at Magical Mallet.

I do, however, agree that I need more monster removal. How about -3 Roars for +2 Raigeki Break and +1 Smashing Ground? Judgment should be doing the job of Vortex in most circumstances. He'll also be covering for Trunade.

soz if you thought they were bad fixes, but i do seriously see the need for magical mallet for unwanted lightsworn cards ( Lightsworn Beast Wolf ) but you also in ur deck idea have too many tributes. soz i was under the impression that only win condition u wanted to use was judgment dragon. so my bad

No problem. Just in the ideal situation, most of the tributes will be milled to the Graveyard. I do have Solar Exchange in here, and I'd like to adapt another draw engine if possible. However, If I successfully swarm with Luminous, then I can get between 2 and 4 monsters on the field in the first turn, depending on the number of Luminous I draw. Luminous mills 3 cards every turn and most of the others mill 2. So if I have 2 Luminous and 1 other on the field, I should be milling 8 cards per turn. Combine with that Solar Exchange and the draw power of Garos, and I shouldn't be having any problems with the tributes. I don't really intend to tribute for them anyway. Gragonis is recursion-worthy, and Cherubim is mostly in there as any extra Lightsworn for use with Garos and Solar Exchange, though her summon is feasible, and could be used as another field-clearing tool.

Anyways, any suggestions on adding more draw p[ower to the deck would be greatly appreciated. I would like to make this deck theoretically faster than DAD, if possible.

add raiza the storm monarch

Lol, no. Raiza is from the 2007 format. It's no longer nearly as useful when a player can draw half their deck at once. Also, way to slow for this deck. It's effect only activates when it's tributed, and chances are it will be milled. Also, Cherubim is a more useful tribute summon.

LODT-ENSP1 - Guardian of Order [super Rare]

Effect Monster (Warrior / LIGHT / 8 Stars / ATK 2500 / DEF 1200)

If you control 2 or more LIGHT monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only control 1 "Guardian of Order".

Sneak peak card

My fault i meant to put 8 stars, i just saw i put 7, my fault

Oh, I didn't realize they told us what the sneak peak promo would be yet. He's a strong possibility. It should be easy enough to keep 2 or more monsters on the field. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? It would also make Trade-In a better possibility. You're right, though there still is the problem of Judgment Dragon being less than ideal Graveyard fodder.

Still, I could see a variant of this deck arising that uses Guardian of Order and Phantom Dragon along with a Trade-In mechanic.

And Lord Wyhe, I shouldn't be decking out. If you play this deck correctly, you should win before that happens. (I already averaged the milling speed at 8 cards per turn, so you can logically conclude that that means this deck wins before turn 4. Still, the nice thing about this deck is I can go over 40 cards without much fear, though I would never run more than 45.)

Ok, lets think about this for a moment.

I activate Trade In and discard Judgment Dragon

-2

I draw 2 cards.

+2

Total card advantage: 0

Now I activate Monster Reincarnation and discard a card.

-2

To add Judgment Dragon to my hand.

+1

Total Card Advantage: -1

Why would I want to do that again?
