To summarize, I don't think there are enough decent generic and splashable engines (guess speedroids would be an example of what I seek). So here's one because I used to think Gagaga had potential to help Xyz decks in general (I really loved the original "change to any Level between 1-8", but they seemed to stop focusing on that which sucks).

 

Gagaga Priest

Level 4 - EARTH - Spellcaster/Effect - 1300/1500

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Gagaga" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Gagaga" monster you control and declare a Level from 1 to 8; its Level becomes the declared Level until the end of this turn, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck during the turn you activate this effect, except by Xyz Summon.

 

There you go, pretty basic. I don't really expect this to solve all issues with the Gagagas (it doesn't), BUT it at least makes them a bit more playable and/or interesting, being more of a "helping Xyz decks of any Levels" than another R4 engine or only doing that R5 play (original + girl > number 33, a boring and unreliable combo really).
