Mirror Shield Gardna

This is interesting basically at the cost of a Normal Summon set a (harder to destroy) Mirror Force.

I like this card it destroys a lot of threats and sets you up for a easy Rank 4 Xyz Summon on your next turn.

My only gripe with this card is that it should be an EARTH Type Warrior with 100 ATK just because I believe in consistency in an archetype even if it only has 2 cards or you can call the card "Mirror Gardna" :-)

Interesting, I presume it's warrior-type. Although if it is it would be really easy to grab with Reinforcements which I think makes it much better than it seems at first.

I wonder what would happen if there was a more specific archtype for warriors like this. Warriors that specifically functioned as spells, traps, etc.

If it also had the text somewhere "This card's name is treated as 'Mirror Force' while face-up on the field" and if it could be used as fusion material with The Fang of Critias. Well, mirror force warrior into mirror force dragon... I'd have to try that out!

As it stands though I think it is missing something, but it seems like it could be a core card.

Yes it was a warrior. Maybe level 4 isn't the best because Warriors are kinda focused around level 4 and Warriors are probably the most supported type, like I think DARK Level 4 is the only real attribute/level/type combo more supported than what I used. But still "works with support" isn't exactly a down-side. I thought for a bit on making it a Level 5 that can be normal set without tribute but I wasn't sure that really was a good idea.

Level 5 settable from your hand is a very interesting idea and definitely not a bad one, especially if you could keep it around for another turn (which it seems like it definitely could). It also opens up options for rank 5 xyz including my lovable Digvorzhak.

There is a spell card I forget its name but it special summons up to 3 level 5 warrior-type monsters from your hand/graveyard. I tried to make a set for it but I struggled. This card makes that much more applicable. I would definitely try it out on duel portal if it was a level 5 warrior. But that's just me.

Especially since setting it means you cant normal summon again, I definitely think its balanced.

My only gripe with leaving it level 4 would be that a set mirror force can be mst'd plus all the other ways decks normally have to get rid of set spell/traps. But a set monster is much more difficult and not all decks have a way of dealing with it other than attacking.

All-in-all it seems like the kind of card that could merge two or more decks depending on what you want to do with it.

Insert thumbs up.
