True Terror [Serious]

Since it's Halloween it's only fitting I share a scary story from work today, right?
Well it's not your usual story, nor your usual scare. But it sure frightened me entirely.

 

There was a man, old, probably around 70. Somewhat overweight but not enough to cause much troubles.
He used one of those motorized carts we, at the store, let people who need them use.

It wasn't busy and he asked me if I could bring the cart back once he got to his car.

I of course said yes.

Then he got to his car.

I helped, and his grandson did too, unload the small amount of items he had purchased.

Then it took him, with help of two canes, his wife, and me, a full five minutes to get out of the seat, stand up, and get into the car.

Now, he was a pleasant man and very apologetic during this, but the fact.

The mere idea.

That someone could reach a point that they struggle that much simply to move their legs and stand up.

And that it could so easily happen to any of us.

Is probably the most terrifying thought I have had in a while.
