Red-Eyes Hot Meteor Dragon

Dragon/Effect

ATK/2800 DEF/2400

You can target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster you control, Tributed it, and if you do, Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn, you can Fusion Summon 1 "Red-Eyes" Fusion Monster by using monsters you control, including this card, then, it's name treated as "Red-Eyes B. Dragon". You can only use effect of "Red-Eyes Hot Meteor Dragon" per turn, and only once that turn.

I try to look at it as an ok alternative to Red Eyes Fusion, but I can't. Sure, you basically get to Summon a powerful Red-Eyes dragon easily, but you remove a resource to do so. Realistically, a simple Poly is better to run instead.

 

One way with which you can actually benefit from this card is if you already have Flare Dragon (the Xyz Monster) on the field. A second is to run a card(s) that Special Summon monsters from the Graveyard (the Red-Eyes archetype already has 2). Not bad, but not that fast either (when you may end up losing resources anyway).

 

Try to work around Fusion Summoning a little better. Maybe make it be Summoned by wasting less resources (but be careful because it's powerful) or change its stats (according to what you think of)?
