The Syncro-Support Harpies deserve

 

 

Hi guys. As a dedicated Harpie player I came to the conclusion that It would make Harpies more competetive in turnaments if they get this special Syncro Support. 

Also it would make the deck more fun to play then it already is because a syncro engine would give Harpie players more options and an Extra-deck-Boss-Monster is what they are missing,

because you cant count Harpie´s Pet Phantasmal Dragon as a Bossmonster he is just for Stalling and in todays Meta he is just too easy to get rid of and has nearly no impact on your plays.

 

I designed the following Card to be a good and usefull Boss-Syncro Monster for the Theme but in the same time to not be to broken and to fit in the Theme:

RAZOR LORD OF THE HARPIES:

 

1"Harpie Lady" Tuner + 1 non-Tuner "Harpie Lady"

 

Effect: 1: Cannot be targeted by card effects. You can only use each of the following effects of (RAZOR LORD OF THE HARPIES) once per turn.

 

-Special Summon one Harpie Lady from your graveyard.

 

-Send as many other "Harpie" and "Hysteric" cards you control to your graveyard as possible: This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card send by this effect during this turn only.

 

2: As long as this card is face up on your side of the field the Summon of your Harpie Lady(s) and their effects cannot be negated,

also your opponent cannot activate cards or effects at the time they are summoned.

 

 

 

Fazit: Harpies are kinda weak if they go first this Card helps them compensate that problem. He is to fast to be targeted by Cards. He is the Lord of the Harpies so he is able to ressurect them from the grave and protect them. His weakness is that he got low Atk and Defence stats as normal for Harpies but he can boost himself up by sacraficeing other Harpie and Hysteric Cards if he needs to. So he can be an alternative for Utopia Lightning. Since he can use his effekts in the Opponents turn he can make Ground pop a card in the opponents turn wich was before only possible with hysteric party. I made him Level 7 for Rank 7 engine synergy so Harpies Pet Dragon would become more usefull. And I admit it has another reason wich I gonna explain down further.

HARPIE´S PRINCESS

 

(Effekt: This Cards Name becomes "Harpie Lady" while it is on the Field or in the Graveyard. When this Card is Normal Summoned you can Special Summon 1 "Harpie Lady" from your Hand. If this Card was send to the graveyard for the Syncrosummon of a "Harpie" Monster: You can add one "Hysteric" Card from your Deck to your Hand. You can only use this effect once per turn. 1000Atk/800Def Wind Winged Beast.)

 

Thats the sweetheart wich enables the Syncro engine. 

Its also good because Harpies finally would get a Hysteric searcher. 

 

 

Now let me explain why she is such a combogirl and how she would boost the Harpie Deck into competicion:

 

Possible first turn plays: summon her use her eff special summon channeler syncro into Harpie Lord get search for hysteric sign use sign get Elegant egotist

 

use Lord eff summon chaneller from grave. use elegant egotist summon Harpie Lady 1 from Deck go into Abyss Dweller. Activate Hunting Ground End your turn.

 

On Opponent turn use Dweller eff to detach a Harpie. Opponent uses Raigeki you chain Lord eff to Special summon a Harpie from grave and pop sign on field...

First off, I'm pretty sure "combo(self-censored to avoid warnings)" is something that you may get a warning for - probably take that off ASAP just in case.

Second, Razor Lord of the Harpies is ridiculous, not to mention it looks like you literally just used the picture for Swift Birdman Joe. Free Summon from Grave, plus non-negateable Summons, plus send all the cards for massive OTK potential not to mention Hysteric card effects that trigger in grave? Thank goodness you can Bottomless Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute or Mirror Force this monstrosity. You diss on Phantasmal Dragon, but this card is perfect to just spam them out and then recycle their used Materials to make more, or just drop more copies of himself, and then bam, it doesn't matter if they can get rid of one because there's another one, and he can just get another one real fast. Also, the card being Razor LORD and therefore Male actually doesn't keep with the background concept for Harpies, which according to mythology are all Female. Perhaps make this one a "Razor Lady Harpie", and definitely nerf those effects.

Third, you forgot to write in the effect for Harpie Princess for those who can't get the images to load. Not a requirement, but it makes it a lot easier to look at and therefore comment on the card.

Fourth, Harpie Princess' effect. Oh look, a free Razor Lord upon Normal Summon plus a search for Hysteric Sign, and she becomes Harpie Lady in Grave so Razor Lord brings her back for a non-negateable Summon - uh, nope. This card makes Razor Lord ridiculous because you open Princess and literally any other Harpie, go T1 Razor Lord + search for Hysteric Sign(who needs Party when you have Razor Lord?), use Razor Lord to get Princess back, go from there. Thankfully, it's only a Normal Summon trigger, otherwise both cards would be broken. Yes, it's Harpies, you say, but what of that? I've got a Harpie player in my local League and the only reason he doesn't really win games is because he can't afford the good cards - his Deck does literally everything he needs it to pretty much every time, the only issue is he doesn't own anything Extra Deck more splashable than Lightning Chidori, and he usually tries to go into Phantasmal Dragon instead, which is actually a decent card. Besides, not a lot of old decks even want to run a Pure Archetype build because the generic stuff out there is just better - heck, playing Harpie/Utopia is a better plan than Pure Harpie, even with these two cards, which would really not get Harpies any further up the Tier List(if there is one), just make a lot of players really ticked off. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm bashing what could very well be your favorite Archetype for all I know, I'm not trying to be rude.

First of all thank you for replying every critic counts and I took your advise and changed my Headpost. Im pretty new here so I gotta learn a view things. Your post make it sound like Razor would be the most broken legal Card in Yugioh but let me ask this would it be more broken then the actual Meta? There are Toadally Awesome for excample who is easy to summon too and got a more broken eff still he is legal to play. or the first turn easy Boss board with Crystalwing SIegfried and other stuff. There are many other examples I could give. You see my point? The Meta is evolving the cards getting more "broken" every new Meta. Whats wrong with Harpies becoming the NEW Meta for once? Yes your right I took the picture from swift man bird because he looked like he is related to Harpies I thought its funny. And yes your right all of the Harpies are female but you got it wrong he is no Harpie he is their Lord (above them) so he got no eff wich says he counts as Harpie Lady besides as a male that would be weird lol and a bit too broken. But I may should put some restrictions on him that he cant be specialsummoned by other ways then syncrosummon. As you said the generic stuff out there is much better thats why I made him generic so Harpies would get their own "generic stuff". And I dont get your statement on the one side you said it would be broken as *much and on the other side you say it would not make them climb the tierlist how does that fit together? And yes your right I LOVE Harpies other decks are kinda boring for me I once loved to play Six Samurais too but since ROTA got Limited its not fun anymore...
