RaphaelNguyen
Warm greetings, good people. As you can see this is my first post ever here so do forgive me any lapse of etiquette. I hope to continue to frequent this forum and read/post more ideas so any feedback and suggestions are very welcomed XD. Now onto the main business. I'm trying to create a Bloodline Archetype with several Sub-Archetype each of a different attribute and revolving around certain monsters which also cross-support each other. Each sub-archetype is a narrative surrounding the growth and possible future of certain monsters which hopefully will unfold as I manage to unveil more cards. Each sub-type should hopefully display a different play style which represents the characteristic of the main monster. So here is the first sub-archetype, The Phantom. The Phantom revolves around "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord" and its ability to use the "Phantom" Union monsters. The concept of the Archetypes are certain beings, called the Phantoms are wandering spirits which needs a physical medium to channel them into a weapon to manifest their effect. These physical medium are the "Bloodline - The Phantom [...]" monsters who are part of an organisation called the Shadow Ops and among them, the Phantom Lord alone can channel the Phantoms for a sustained period of time, using them to become more powerful versions of himself. Note that a Deck using this Archetype would rely very much on managing the cards available on Hand and Graveyard as they are the fuel for the powerful effects of the "Phantom"s. Also not all the cards here would be present in a deck, as the "Phantom" hopefully allows the deck to be very different depending on which "Phantom" weapons you choose to include. Please also note that all card artworks here are images sourced from my saved gallery which accumulated from the Internet, mostly Pinterest over the years. I neither created nor own any of these illustrations. If and when I manage to finish my own illustration (so unlikely seeing how slow I work) these cards will be updated. If this infringes upon forum regulation, please let me know and I will take down the card photos. Without further ado, let's have a look at the "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord" monsters: [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Initiate] Pendulum Effect: Once per turn: You can add a "Phantom" Union monster from your Deck to your Hand. If you do, that card cannot be Pendulum Summoned until the end of this turn. Monster Effect: This card is also treated as a "Bloodline" card. This card's name is treated as "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". Once per turn: When a "Phantom" monster is destroyed by battle or card effect, send this card from your Hand to the Graveyard; that monster cannot be destroyed until the end of that turn. This is the youngest version of the Phantom Lord. Basically a safety net card. [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Apprentice] Monster Effect: This card is also treated as a "Bloodline" card. This card's name is treated as "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". Once per turn: You can Tribute this card and a "Bloodline" or "Phantom" monster of a different name on your side of the field; Special Summon "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". If you do, any "Phantom" Union monsters currently equipped to this card is equipped to that monster instead. At the end of that turn, destroy that monster. This is the second version of the Phantom Lord. The only tuner monster of the Set. Has a level up type effect to summon the most important version of himself. [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Lord] Monster Effect: This card is also treated as a "Bloodline" card. When this card does not have at least one "Phantom" Union monster equipped to it, it loses 200 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: You can discard a card from your Hand; Special Summon a "Phantom" or "Bloodline" monster from your Deck with 1000 or less DEF. That monster cannot attack until the end of that turn. During your End Phase, if this card has at least 2 "Phantom" Union monster equipped to it, you can Special Summon "Bloodline - The Phantom Emperor" from your Extra Deck or Graveyard. If you do, this card and all "Phantom" Union monsters equipped to it also become Xyz Material on that card. The Phantom Lord in his prime. He is one of the easier ways to summon one of the two most powerful versions of himself. Also have an ability to discard cards and draw his weapons from the deck to speed up the process. [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Exile] Pendulum Effect: Once per turn: You can activate 1 of these effects: ● You can target 1 "Phantom" Union monster in your Graveyard; shuffle it into your Deck. ● You can target 1 banished "Phantom" Union monster; send that target to the Graveyard. Monster Effect: This card is also treated as a "Bloodline" card. This card's name is treated as "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". This card cannot be Pendulum Summoned except when both monsters in the Pendulum Zone are "Phantom" monsters. During either players' turn, you can banish this card from the Graveyard, then shuffle "Phantom" Union monsters in your Graveyard into your Deck up to the number of "Phantom" cards you control on the field. After losing control of his ability, the Phantom Lord embarked on a journey to reclaim his ephemeral friends. This is the reload mechanism of this deck and the lower scale of the Phantom Pendulum. [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Watcher] Pendulum Effect: Once per turn: When a "Phantom" Union monster on your side of the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can return it to your Hand instead. That card cannot be Pendulum Summoned until the end of this turn. Monster Effect: 1 Warrior-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Phantom" monsters This card is also treated as a "Bloodline" card. This card's name is treated as "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can banish any number of "Phantom" monsters from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Phantom" Union monster from your Hand or Deck for every 2 "Phantom" cards banished and if you do, destroy them by the end of this turn if they are still in the Monster Zone. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. The Phantom Lord after he had found all his Phantoms. He serves as watcher who guides the future generations and helps the Phantoms. A game-ender on its own (and all the Phantoms it manage to Special Summon). [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Emperor] Monster Effect: 2 or more Level 7 "Bloodline" or "Phantom" monsters This card's name is treated as "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord". Negate the effect of any cards equipped to this card and destroyed them except for "Phantom" Union monsters. When a "Phantom" Union monster is equipped to this card, attach it to this card as an Xyz Material instead. This card's original ATK and DEF is 500 plus the sum of that of all its Xyz Materials. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to negate the effect of all cards on the field until the end of that turn except for "Bloodline" and "Phantom" monsters. During your End Phase, if this card has no Xyz Material left, destroy it. An alternate version of the Phantom Lord who had learnt to master his power without losing control of it. Though it does lose out on the effects that the Union monster provides, it can end the game mostly with just pure ATK alone. This maybe a card that needs to be balanced the most in the Deck and I'm still struggling to do so without having it lose its place in the Deck. And that's all the Phantom Lord cards, onto the Phantom entities/weapons. These monsters have a common Effect Template of Doubling their ATK and DEF the turn they are Normal Summoned or Flipped and cannot stay equipped to any monster but the Phantom Lord for more than 1 turn. They can all do the normal Union stuffs equipping and un-equipping, being destroyed in place of the equipped monster and granting ATK, DEF boost. They each also grant the monster an additional once per turn effect. [spoiler=The Phantom Aquila - Longbow] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 face-up "Phantom" monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. While equipped by this effect, the equipped monster gains 300 ATK and also gains this effect: Once per turn: You can banish a "Phantom" card from your Graveyard OR destroy an equipped "The Phantom Aquila - Longbow"; this monster can attack the opponent directly. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. During your End Phase, if this card is equipped to a monster other than "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord", return it to your hand. [spoiler=The Phantom Assassin - Gauntlet] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. During your End Phase, if this card is equipped to a monster other than "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord", return it to your hand. [spoiler=The Phantom Ceberus - Cetus] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 face-up "Phantom" monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. While equipped by this effect, the equipped monster gains 400 ATK and 200 DEF and also gains this effect: Once per turn: You can discard up to 2 cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard OR destroy an equipped "The Phantom Ceberus - Cestus"; this card gains an additional attack that turn fo each card sent to the Graveyard by this effect. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. During your End Phase, if this card is equipped to a monster other than "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord", return it to your hand. [spoiler=The Phantom Nephalim - Katana] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. During your End Phase, if this card is equipped to a monster other than "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord", return it to your hand. [spoiler=The Phantom Severer - Lance] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 face-up "Phantom" monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. While equipped by this effect, the equipped monster gains 600 ATK and 200 DEF and also gains this effect: Once per turn: You can banish one card from your Graveyard OR banish an equipped "The Phantom Severer - Lance"; select a face-up monster your opponent control and banish it from the field. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. During your End Phase, if this card is equipped to a monster other than "Bloodline - The Phantom Lord", return it to your hand. [spoiler=The Phantom Wolf - Aegis Cloak] Monster Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped face-up. it has double its original ATK and DEF until your opponent's next End Phase. Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 face-up "Phantom" monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. While equipped by this effect, the equipped monster gains 800 DEF and also gains this effect: Once per turn: You can negate a card effect targeting this card. If the equipped monster is destroyed and send to the Graveyard, you can destroy this card instead. [spoiler=The Phantom Collective] Monster Effect: 3 or more Level 3 "Phantom" monsters Once per turn, you can remove 1 Xyz Material from this card; neither player can declare an attack until your next Standby Phase. During either of your Main Phase, if this card has no Xyz Material left, you can Special Summon "Bloodine - The Phantom Emperor" from your Extra Deck and if you do, attach this card to it as Xyz Material. This is the alternate way to summon "Bloodline - The Phantom Emperor" though it would be pretty weak when summoned with this effect. Also a safe way to reload your Graveyard. Other "Phantom" monster support cards: [spoiler=Bloodline - The Phantom Rose] Monster Effect: While this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot target other "Bloodline" or "Phantom" monsters of a different name for attacks.
