I've made 2 of 3 sets so far, and I'm looking to make the last one (it's gonna be dragons!! :)). my last thread was locked too, so I'll cite each pic under the card. (NOTE: All pictures for my cards have been cropped or otherwise modified.)

The Fourth Soldier

Effect:Before the duel begins, show this card to your opponent and name a Monster Card. As long as you have at least 1 "The First Soldier", "The Second Soldier", and "The Third Soldier" in your Deck, Hand, or on your side of the Field, you can have four copies of the selected card in your Deck, Hand, Field, and Graveyard. If you fail to meet any of this card's requirements, remove from play all copies of the selected card.

Tell me how they are! I don't know if I should add the rules about the cards... haven't fully thought about them of course.. regardless! I like them, so please tell me how to improve; thanks!

Bypassing the banlist was the biggest problem, but these cards are still overpowered. Essentially, I'm allowed to start the duel with 4 monsters removed from play, which means that I not only have a 36 card deck, I've also turned Dimension Fusion and RftDD into one-card OTK's (whereas normally they would need things like Strike Ninja to help).

Even so, these are still overpowered. With 3 of each "Fourth" card, the minimum deck size is effectively reduced from 40 to 16. And I can tell that you're planning to make a new series consisting of three traps plus a "Fourth" monster that removes traps, so here's my decklist for when that comes out:

Monsters (17)

4 The Fourth Whatever

1 Exodia, the Forbidden One

1 Left Leg of the Forbidden One

1 Right Leg of the Forbidden One

1 Left Arm of the Forbidden One

1 Right Arm of the Forbidden One

4 Larvae Moth

4 Gate Guardian

Spells (15)

4 The Fourth Soldier

3 Upstart Goblin

4 Bonding - H2O

4 Des Croaking

Traps (8)

4 The Fourth Mage

4 Hero Barrier

The strategy should be obvious. 100% consistent FTK? I think so.

Thanks for the input, and I think this is where I got with my idea when I made the cards, if it's still overpowered, then I'm worried and I'll probably pitch the idea.

Rules:

1. Only one copy of each of these cards is allowed in each players' deck in both Traditional and Advanced Format Duels.

2. "The Fourth Soldier", "The Fourth Mage", or "The Fourth Wyrm" can only select cards that are not in a limitation list.

2. When a card selected by the effect of "The Fourth Soldier", "The Fourth Mage", or "The Fourth Wyrm" is removed from play due to the effect of the noted cards, that card is in Game Stasis, where it is not treated as though it were a part of the duel at all (meaning it can not be targeted or affected by any card effects)

3. When "The Fourth Soldier", "The Fourth Mage", or "The Fourth Wyrm" is shown to a player in the beginning of an Advanced Format Duel, then the three cards that follow in sequence with it must also be in that deck. In a Traditional Format Duel, all cards in the sequence do not need to be in the deck, but at least two out of the four must. In either case, the opponent is allowed to see any of the cards that are listed in the effect of "The Fourth Soldier", "The Fourth Mage", or "The Fourth Wyrm" at the beginning of the duel.

I hope that covers it! :)

btw, what's an FTK??

plus your deck was kinda off... i mean, by looking at the cards, I thought one would assume that you couldn't have 4 copies of "The Fourth Soldier", "The Fourth Mage", and "The Fourth Wyrm" even before I posted rules... but ok.

but dont rules outway card text? if a rule says you can only have up to 3 copy's of one card in your deck i dont think a card can change that, think of an official duel, your deck would be checked BEFORE the duel started, and if you have 4 copys of a card, geuss what, your disqualified. even if this wasent true you also realise that if it could bypass the whole rule of 3 copies thing, then it would be able to bypass the ban list as well, suddenly you'd have a bunch of decks running like four raigekis or four pot of greeds, the posabilitys are mind numbing. so its either useless or just plain broken, really up to you on this one. dont want to sound like im bashing your idea, its creative but the entire consept is bending to much and would create to much confusion. they would ban these cards just so they didnt have to deal with the rulings. 4/10 its an intersting concept but just not realistic.
