This archetype started off just based on Nidus, a, well, Warframe from the ever-so-popular game, Warframe! He is the main boss monster, but the archetype is based on manipulating Mutation Counters on the field (similar to Nidus' Mutation Stacks), and your effects use them to make powerful plays! Also the Archetype's Trap are based on using the Counters, and being that they are part of the Infestation, the Set themselves once they are used up, so they can sprout back up later. Using your monsters and other cards to amass Mutation Counters, you can bring out Nidus and really start to do some damage! Scourge CrawlerDARK/InsectLv1 Effect500 ATK/0 DEFAfter Damage Calculation, if this card battled: place 1 Mutation Counter on this card. While this card has a Mutation Counter on it, it cannot be destroyed by battle. Before Damage Calculation: you can remove 1 Mutation Counter from this card; you take no battle damage from this battle. Scourge CarrierDARK/InsectLv2 Effect1000 ATK/0 DEFWhen this card is Summoned: place 1 Mutation Counter on 1 face-up monster on the field. Once per turn, you can remove any number of Mutation Counters from the field: add 1 "Scourge" Insect monster from your Deck or GY to your hand whose Level is equal to the number of Counters removed by this effect. Scourge BruiserDARK/InsectLv3 Effect1500 ATK/0 DEFWhen this card declares an attack: place 2 Mutation Counters on 1 face-up monster on the field. Once per turn, you can target 1 monster on the field with Mutation Counters on it (Quick Effect): remove 1 Mutation Counter from this card, then Tribute that monster. Scourge ChargerDARK/InsectLv4 Effect2000 ATK/0 DEFWhen this card is Normal Summoned: place 3 Mutation Counters on it. While this card has Mutation Counters on it, it cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: you can remove 1 Mutation Counter from this card; add 1 "Scourge" Spell or Trap card from your Deck or GY to your hand. Scourge BreederDARK/InsectLv6 Effect2100 ATK/0 DEFWhen this card is Tribute Summoned: place 1 Mutation Counter on each "Scourge" Insect monster on the field. Once per turn: you can remove up to 2 Mutation Counters from this card; Special Summon 1 "Scourge Token" (Insect/DARK/Level 1/0 ATK/0 DEF) to either player's field for each Counter removed by this effect. Scourge SpawnerDARK/InsectLv6 Effect2400 ATK/0 DEFWhen this monster is destroyed or Tributed: place 1 Mutation Counter on each face-up monster on the field. Once per turn: you can remove 3 Mutation Counters from this card; Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Scourge" Insect monster from your Deck. Scourge AncientDARK/InsectLv7 Effect2600 ATK/0 DEFDuring the Standby Phase: place 1 Mutation Counter on face-up monsters on the field for each turn this card has been on the field. Once per turn, you can target 1 face-up monster on the field that has a Mutation Counter (Quick Effect); Tribute that monster, then place 1 Mutation Counter on this card. If a "Scourge" Insect monster(s) you control would be destroyed or Tributed by an opponent's card effect, you can remove Mutation Counters from cards on the field equal to the number of monsters instead. Scourge BehemothDARK/InsectLv8 Effect3000 ATK/0 DEFYou can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 monster on the field with 7 Mutation Counters on it. If you do not control "Scourge Behemoth": you can reveal this card in your hand; place 1 Mutation Counter on all "Scourge" Insect monsters on the field. You can only activate this effect of "Scourge Behemoth" once per turn. If a "Scourge" Insect monster you control destroys an opponent's monster by battle: place 2 Mutation Counters on that monster you control. Scourge Origin - NidusDARK/InsectLv10 Fusion? ATK/0 DEF~5 "Scourge" Insect monstersYou can Special Summon this card by Tributing 1 monster on the field with 10 Mutation Counters on it. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon). This card gains 200 ATK x the number of Mutation Counters on the field. During the End Phase: you can move up to 10 Mutation Counters from cards on the field to this card. Once per turn, you can remove 5 Mutation Counters from this card to activate each of the following effects of "Scourge Origin - Nidus"(Quick Effect):*Move this card to one of your unoccupied Main Monster Zones, and if you do, face-up cards your opponent controls that are in the same column as this card have their effects negated until the End Phase.*Target any number of monsters your opponent controls with Mutation Counters on them (min. 5); send all of those cards to the GY, and if you do, place 1 Mutation Counter on this card for each card sent to the GY by this effect. Scourge Infestation NexusField SpellWhen this card is activated: add 1 "Scourge" Insect monster from your Deck to your hand. If a Mutation Counter is placed on a monster on the field: place 1 Mutation Counter on any monsters in adjacent zones. If a monster with Mutation Counters on it leaves the field, move all Mutation Counters that were on that monster to a "Scourge" Insect monster on its controller's side of the field. Scourge Hive ManifestationContinous TrapActivate this card by placing 1 Mutation Counter on all face-up "Scourge" Insect monsters on the field. Once per turn, you can remove 5 Mutation Counters from a monster you control; that monster gains 1000 ATK. During the End Phase, remove 1 Mutation Counter from each monster you control. If you do not remove at least 3 Counters by this effect, Set this card. Scourge CorruptionNormal TrapTarget 1 face-up monster on the field with Mutation Counters: remove all Mutation Counters from that monster (min. 3), and if you do, it loses 200 ATK & DEF x the number of Mutation Counters removed by this effect, also, that monster cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects for the rest of this turn, then Set this card, also if you removed 6 Mutation Counters by this effect, you can activate this card the turn it was Set. Scourge TransmutationNormal TrapTarget 1 "Scourge" Insect monster on the field with Mutation Counters on it (min. 2): remove all Mutation Counters from it, then Special Summon 1 "Scourge" Insect monster from your Deck whose Level is less than or equal to the number of Counters removed, then Set this card, also if you removed 7 or more Mutation Counters by this effect, you can activate this card the turn it was Set. Scourge InfectionCounter TrapWhen a monster with Mutation Counters on it activates its effect: remove all Mutation Counters from it (min. 3); negate the activation, then Set this card, also if you removed 5 or more Mutation Counters by this effect, you can activate this card the turn it was Set. Changed all traps(minus Hive) to be able to activate again after they are Set if they remove enough counters by their effects Changed Nidus' effects to better suit his in-game character.
