Spiritanious Archetype

The Idea behind the Spiritanious Archetype is that they come from a Paradise like world that rejects all darkness and malice.

 

Spiritanious monsters all have the same effect that let you activate Spiritanious Spell/Traps on either players turn if your opponent activates a card effect but you have to discard 1 card.

 

MONSTERS

 

[spoiler=Spiritanious Mastress Ark (LIGHT) LVL:2]

[Fairy/Effect]

When this card is summoned: You can shuffle 1 card from your hand into your deck then draw 2 and if you've drawn a "Spiritanious" monster you can Special summon 1 monster from your hand. Once during either players turn: If your opponent activates a card effect you can discard 1 card to activate 1"Spiritanious" Spell/Trap card from your Deck or hand.

ATK 1000 DEF 1400

 

[spoiler=Spiritanious Royal Leader Four (LIGHT) LVL:4]

[Warrior/Effect]

Once per turn: You can either destroy 1 random card of your opponents hand or add the bottom card of your deck to your hand. Once during either players turn: If your opponent activates a card effect you can discard 1 card to activate 1"Spiritanious" Spell/Trap card from your Deck or hand.

While this card is in Attack position: If it would be destroyed change it to face-up Defense position instead. Once during either players turn: If your opponent activates a card effect you can discard 1 card to activate 1"Spiritanious" Spell/Trap card from your Deck or hand.

[Warrior/Effect/Pendulum]

You cannot Pendulum summon monsters except "Spiritanious" monsters. All "Spiritanious" monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: you can discard 1 card to add 1 "Spiritanious" monster from your deck to your hand. You can only activate the Pendulum effect of "Spiritanious Commander Zeal" once per turn.

For the tribute summon of this card you can also banish "Spiritanious" monsters from your GY. Once during either players turn: If your opponent activates a card effect you can discard 1 card to activate 1"Spiritanious" Spell/Trap card from your Deck or hand if you do you can target 1 can on the field and destroy that card.

2 monsters (at least 1 "Spiritanious" monster)

If this card was Link summoned: you can add 1 "Spiritanious" card from your GY to your hand. Once during either players turn: you can send 1 monster this card points to back to the owners hand to activate 1 "Spiritanious" Spell/Trap card directly from your deck, hand or GY.

SPELLS

When this card is activated all "Spiritanious" monsters you currently control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects untill the end of this turn. You can only activate 1"Spiritanious Ferral Aura" per turn with the effect of a "Spiritanious" monster.

 

 

 

[spoiler=Spiritanious Wonder Call (Continuous)]

When this card is activated you can discard 1 card to Special summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Spiritanious" monster in face-up Defense position from your Deck or GY. Once during either players turn: If your opponent activates a card effect while you control at least 1 "Spiritanious" monster draw 1 card and if you've drawn a "Spiritanious" card then draw 1 additional card. You can only activate the effects of "Spiritanious Wonder Call" once per turn.

 

 

 

 

TRAPS

You can only activate this card if you control a "Spiritanious" monster. Target up to 2 monsters on the field and freely change thier battle positions. Once while this card is in your GY: You can target up to 2 "Spiritanious" cards in your GY then shuffle the targets back into your Deck. You can only activate 1"Spiritanious Blooming Fear" per turn with the effect of a "Spiritanious" monster.

 

 

 

[spoiler=Spiritanious Style - Bladestrom (Normal)]

You can only activate this card if you control a "Spiritanious" monster. When this card is activated: Destroy 1 card on the field then target 1 monster you control it gains 1700 ATK untill the end of this turn only. You can only activate 1"Spiritanious Style - Bladestrom" per turn with the effect of a "Spiritanious" monster.

 

 

 

[spoiler=Spiritanious Wonder Ritual (Continuous)]

You can only activate this card while you control at least 1"Spiritanious" card. When this card is activated: choose 1 card zone that card zone cannot be used and cards currently in that chosen zone have thier effects negated as long as this card remains face-up on the field. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card to Special summon 1"Spiritanious" monster in face-up Defense position from your Deck or Hand. You can only activate 1"Spiritanious Wonder Ritual" per turn.

First get the nitpicks out of the way

  1. "If your opponent activates a card effect" is a condition and should be before the ":"
  2. The pendulum guy is Lv 6 in the artwork but you say he's Lv 7, I'll review him as Lv 7 for now since I understand how annoying it is to change the image after you want to change something like that (but it makes a big difference when it come to the other scale and tribute summoning with 1 vs 2 tributes)
  3. The Link monster art is ..... Korean Type? How did that even happen?
  4. For the Link, not sure about "Send to the hand" wording. Normally you say either "Add to hand" or "Return to hand"
  5. For Blooming Fear why do you phrase it as "freely change their battle positions", why not just "change their battle positions" or "Target up to 2 monsters"? I don't even understand what you indent to say with "Freely"

Also, targeting could be used a bit more effectively in the archetype, like for the continuous Spell it could target the monster it's going to summon and why does Bladestrom target as part of the effect? Targeting is redundant at that point. And for Wonder Ritual, we use "Target" not "Choose" in OCG.

 

That may be a lot but this is Advanced Card Design so I advise you to read over OCG/PSCT Thread: Writing your card properly! so that you can improve this since it helps us understand how you intend the effect to work.

 

Mastress Ark - a fairy monster you can summon off "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" and still get it's effect to go +1, pretty good. Rather it had a HOPT but may be fine.

 

Royal Leader Four - A monster that is searchable by ROTA and can be SS by Invoker..... and destroys your opponent's hand? Needs a HOPT at least with that effect. Don't like how it also has the option of a Pseudo Draw since you can get ti out so easily. Just too Generic

 

Violent Bloom - What happened to "The Idea behind the Spiritanious Archetype is that they come from a Paradise like a world that rejects all darkness and malice." she clearly looks like a bit evil not to mention she is a DARK Fiend monster.... 

 

Anyway, she is a good card to force your opponent to activate something instead of just running over you monster before you have a chance

 

Commander Zeal - Pendulum effect is nice, scale too. Effect is fair and ties into the rest of the archetype. Doesn't do anything too special but it's a search so would see some play.

 

Paradise Fairy - Good card, personally not a fan of the "(at least 1 "Spiritanious" monster)" thing since it just seems like you want it completely generic but one want it actually used in Archetype (before you bring up Needlefiber, it was a callback to how you make Synchros with a Tuner and Non-tuner)

 

A bit reliant on your opponent using the zone above it bit it git a card back from the GY which balance it out.

 

Ferral Aura - Unless I'm missing something I would run this as a staple 0 of.

 

Wonder Call - Good card, monster reborn for the Archetype and generate the discard fodder for the rest of the deck. Should say to reveal the card if you want the extra draw

 

Blooming Fear - Okay, I'll be honest, this card makes no goddamn sense. When do you activate the effect to change battle position? What the heck does "Freely" mean? Is the targeting meant to be a cost since it's redundant at the point since I don't any monster that benefits from being targeted?

 

Bladestrom - Targeting as an effect is still redundant. But overall good card

 

Wonder Ritual - Please use "Target" properly ..... good card

Oh my... im sorry but thanks man im goin to probably change those things up and correct my mistakes

 

As for the OCG thread ill read that one too since i think it will help for the future.

 

Royal Leader Four: The second part of the first effect "add the bottom card of your deck to your hand" is simply bc sometimes you dont wanna discard some of your opponents monster for them to possibly activate their GY effects since nowadays almost every good card has one.

 

Violent Bloom: I know she looks evil but lets say she's the creepy gravekeeper and btw i like the art design too much on this card to change it.

 

Commander Zeal: is supposed to be a LVL6 my bad.

 

Paradise Fairy: i made this card using a, what i thought was a "japanise" card making app for some reason it didnt let me change the language so yeah. I struggled making that one next ill just use ps.

 

Blooming fear: ok i see conclusion = complete rehaul/rephrase.

 

Thanks for your feedback btw ill change things up once i have the time.
