Suggestion - Reputation System

While neg repping a member for spamming (he shall remain nameless) I began thinking about how many members have neg reps on them, that probably don't deserve them anymore and would like to pose a suggestion.

 

For the rep complaint thread, open up an entirely new thread for old/outdated neg reps.

 

If the member has been neg rep free for at least 60 days, the neg reps should be deleted from their record.

 

Reason being, members usually learn their lessons after 30-60 days and with a clean record like that, they should be allowed to be amended of their wrong-doings and mistakes.

 

It wouldn't be difficult to check if the member has been neg rep free for 60 days and it would give members a chance to:

1) Redeem themselves for stupid mistakes made.

2) Clear their name of wrongdoings when working towards bettering themselves.

3) Urge them to revenge rep less because they know if they stay clean for 60 days, it will be removed after they post in the appropriate topic to have it removed.

I guess it would be a good idea as most newbies who got these would have either:

 

1) Learned and stopped

2) Been banned
