Let's say that you Summon Thestalos on the first turn.

What if you discard an opponent's Dark Armed Dragon or Judgment Dragon that could have won them the game on their first turn.

In my opinion, you should main 3 Thestalos or main no Thestalos.

It's very situational & luck-based.

Besides, what are the chances that could ever happen? (there are some cards that thrive on being in the grave)

I agree with Lord wyhe here. There aren't that many good ways to get a monarch out on the first turn. Also, I heard that some decks run Instant Fusion, and sac the fusion for a monarch. Could that be very competitive in the current format, or is it just a waste of time?

Let me show how with this duel simulation.

Duelist A: Thestalos Deck (LP:2400)

Duelist B: Dark World Deck (LP:2800)

Duelist A's turn

-A tribute summons Thestalos

-A uses Thestalos' effect

-B discards Reign-Beax

-B's LP:2100

-Reign-Beax is special summoned & all monsters are destroyed

Duelist B's turn

-B attacks A directly with Reign-Beax

-A's LP:0

and this is how Thestalos suck

- Mobius 2

- Granmarg

+ 3 Thestalos

People who say Thestalos sucks need to learn2play

Edit: The rest of your deck is bad too.

If your opponent main decks Reign-Beax and this happens, your a bad player.

Lol at using Reign Beau. (Even Dark World isn't a threat you should be worrying about now.)

Also, you'r opponent doesn't exactly get to choose which card he/she dumps. Even if your opponent does have a Disc Commander he doesn't mind getting dumped, that's a 1 out of 5 chance of hitting it on opening turn.

Also, if Thestalos follows up on a Trap Dustshoot, and you were smart enough to keep track of how your opponent shuffled his hand, luck is no longer a factor.
