Let me show you guys a Duel Simulation

Duelist:Light Warrior Deck

Duelist's turn (3 face-down cards)

-Duelist draws 1 card

-Duelist activate Call of the Haunted to special summon Kuraz

-Kuraz activates effect & destroy 2 face-down cards

-Duelist draws 2 cards

-face-downs are Statue of the Wicked' date='so 2 Wicked Tokens are special summoned

-Duelist tributes Kuraz & Wicked Tokens to summon Gilford the Lightning

-Gilford's effect activates to destroy all monster (then it's direct attack)

[/quote']

*facepalm*

On that note, Statue of the Wicked and Gilford the Lightning are now apparently metagame staples, and Call of the Haunted is now unbanned.

At first, I thought Kuraz was terrible. After a while, I came to the (more intelligent) realization that Kuraz is, to quote another member, pure utility.

Tribute Treeborn Frog. Destroy your Sangan, thats basically drawing 2 cards, though 1 you get to choose. Then of course you still have another card to destroy, so either destroy your opponent's card, or another card on your side that will give you some advantage.

You guys are pretty much helpless. Either that or you can't read to save baby seals. I say that you use Kuraz's effect to clear the field which is basically saying that your opponenet has 2 cards. But you'd rather destroy 2 of your own cards to try and lucksack a Heavy Storm and Lightning Vortex? Go to pojo and learn to play from the geniuses there.

Lol @ geniuses at Pojo. Why would you give your opponent free cards if Kuraz can't attack same turn? If he already can't attack, use him to blow himself and another card up to draw 2. You seriously need to L2play. And not from Pojo, from Metagame, or UDE, or any website with high level players with coherent brains. Why would you, clear the field, to give your opponent 2 cards, and not be able to attack with the 2400 beatstick you just summoned. We aren't trying to lucksack, we're saying that Kuraz is going to be a good draw engine for Monarchs because he gets his effect when special summoned and can blow up himself, and another card to get 2 cards. You're saying, you summon Kuraz, lolblowupfieldliekjudgement, give them 2 cards, and... and... AND...?! You just wasted a summon, gave your opponent 2 cards, and can't attack with a 2400 beatstick that you refused to blow up, even to get yourself one card, because he can blow up the field. Kuraz is like a good suicide bomber, you profit off of him killing himself, and profit again off of him being Special Summoned and blowing himself up again. L2monarchkthxbye. Especially in the presence of ton, he's one of the best Monarch users I know.

I don't see this as a Monarch, because he doesn't give any advantage when summoned; He only turns field advantage into hand advantage.

This, off course, is different if you run some kind of Crab Helmet deck that somehow makes this a good card.
