hotfoilcard
r u blind i clearly stated that in USA (maybe i forgot that part) recent SJC's and to a smaller extent hobby leagues in your given area dictate the tiers of the metagame. do you really want to argue with me on that? everything doesnt need to be tossed back and forth like meat amongst the wolves.... you glossed over what i said obv i said GB's (steve harris version and probably the rest of the top sixteen - im sorry were they not all GB's?) were TIER 1 (theres one of those numbers you were talking about) DO I NEED TO SHOUT!!??? do you need to get a larger monitor? EDIT: OMG??!! SJC winners dont determine the tiers? lololollloolol... IM IN USA USA = NATS AND SJC figure it out

JesusofChaos™
i class tier one as decks that win SJC and national championships Tier 2 I class as decks that have potential to win regionals if tier one are not taking part Tier 3 i class as rubbish decks that are only good for fun dueling and maybe have limited success at locals
RedSceptile
So if someone in an SJC stacked there way using a Dark Magician Control deck, Dark Magician Control decks are instantly Tier 1 right? That's the logic (or lack of) being used here.

~ P O L A R I S ~
Tiers are just another term of classification. It's better to just ignore them. Whichever types of decks showed up the most in the top 16s of SJCs are netdecked by everyone and they become tier. I suppose it would be possible for some guy to win with Dark Magician control, but seriously, what are the chances? I think that hotfoil has a point, you've got to admit there's some kinda connection between top tiers and the top 16s at SJCs.

ShinobiDark72
So, Gladiator Beasts, Burn, Skill Drain Beatdown, Cyber Gadgets and Horus-Jinzo-Plasma Lock would go under what respective tires? Just wondering where decks I have or am building would stand.
「tea.leaf」
Probably Tier 2, high Tier 3 at the lowest.

Think with your heads please/ Logically you shouldn't be able to win if your deck is bad. yeah, because lucksack has nothing to do here, right?? let's face it, 80% of the SJC decks are netdeck, and everybody knows that 2/3 of the top 16 stacks... it's illogic that the winning deck of a touney determines the tier, because ANYTHING can win a lolcal... a SJC is a poker game... so your logic to determine the tier is garbage... If a deck wins an SJC or not doesn't decide it's Tier, it's whether or not it's good in the first palce does. DDT, and Magical Explosion (pre-Dimension Fusion ban) were both Tier 1 yet, they didn't win an SJC. Does that immediately make them Tier 2/Tier 3? No it doesn't.
