How/when do you listen to music and how do you embrace new genres?

Wondering how you guys engage with music.

For example for me, this is my SEGA week, so I'm listening to Video Game music from SEGA games (minus Sonic's franchise). So when I'm working out, walking, biking and doing computer work, I tend to play my SEGA playlist or hop on YouTube and play a soundtrack from a game.

So for me, I listen to different genres based on something pre-planned (like my entertainment weeks). How about you?
