N00B Hunter
Alright... you told me you wanted corrections, I'll give 'em to you... (and they're not just OCG -- you're strategy's pretty flawed) Dimensioner Text: I'm going to have to say you're good on this part, just specify when it's Normal and when its Dimensioner. Here's a sentance you could use:As long as this card remains [on the field, or in your deck, hand, or Graveyard], it is treated as a Normal Monster. This seems a little bit much... seeing as there's so much good support for Normal Monsters right now (Ancient Rules, Justi-Break might become useful, etc.) Liath: Just one problem with the card text. Where is says, "If the Special Summoned card is targeted for a Spell or Trap Card effect..." you should change "for a Spell or Trap" to "by a Spell or Trap". Graveyard Shift: I'd like to address this situation right before anything happens. What you're doing is creating 1 Spell for each "Dimensioner" monster you're creating. As a result, that monster and that Spell card only support each other (eg. "Weakening Charm" isn't going to work so well with "Vigganne"). You need to make a fair set of monsters, and then create S & T which support all of the monsters (with the exception of possibly 1 or 2, but you'll need to have some 5 or 6 Dimensioners by the time you start making S & T). This spell shouldn't only support the effect of Liath -- it'll be a dead draw unless Liath is RFP, and Liath needs 2 tributes to be summoned, and then can only go the RFP if he's destroyed in battle. (Dark World Lightning, Smashing Ground, etc. However, Nobleman of Crossout will not effect him, still RFPing him, which I Like because it's used frequently in decks... but I'm off on a tangent). So, either improve the power of the effect to make it a good surface effect card (something from a TV show.. bleh) or just get rid of your Spell cards, and make some general supports. Vigganne: His effect is kind of useless, even with his pairing spell. As far as these cards go, the only monsters that attack from RFP are Retist monsters, yet his effect targets all monsters except Retists, making them lose ATK.. so there's really no point, unless you're going to make some Dimensioner set that opposes the Retist monsters, but isn't that thinking a little far ahead? His secondary effect counteracts "Graveyard Shift", making monsters summoned from RFP (only 2 cards in the metagame have that power -- Return from the Different Dimension, and Dimension Fusion -- plus your newly made card). So, if those cards aren't going to be used in unison, that means Liath wouldn't be used with them, right? So you've just prevented the use of two different Dimensioner monsters, two out of three, right at the start of your set. These cards should support each other, not counteract each other. By the way, when I saw the picture I immediately thought this card was a Dark Magician parody or extension. Maybe you could make it that way... Decrease of Soul: Again, it only works with Vigganne, which is a big problem. This card will only work in a deck where lots of monsters fall to the RFP, so it would make a nice perfect circle card combo with "Viganne" and some RFP cards like "Skull Lair" and "Dimensional Fissure". However, you'll need to remember that it's a dead draw in most cases (you're going to need to summon a 2 tribute monster and then kill it in battle before playing this card). Syere: It's actually the better of your 3 card combinations. Each turn it decreases the lvl all monsters on the field and RFP by 1 and immediately makes any monster summoned from RFP a 0-lvl. With "Weakening Charm", your card makes a devastating, yet hard to play combination... perfect for a TV show or a primary deck strategy (with secondary and tertruary strategies revolving around it, of course. If they were mild support instead of revolving, you'd have the dead draw problem again). Without "Weakening Charm", however, this effect is useless. Also, I need to ask you if you really have to decrease the lvl of all RFP monsters, yet exclude retist monsters, while the only monsters that can attack are Retists... it doesn't make sense. Weakening Charm: It's worthwhile to make a deck based around this and "Syere", a wonderful aggro deck which would limit your opponent to make the way free for attack. However, so many cards would be needed to ensure that you get "Weakening Charm" and "Syere" in the proper positions, for extended periods of time, you'd hardly have space for your aggro cards (unless you plan to forsake some staples -- Torrential Tribute, Heavy Storm, Call of the Haunted, Marshmallon, etc.). Maybe, if some other Dimensioners are made with less powerful effects than "Syere", and "Syere" gets some strenuous summoning requirement, and you make some more lvl-decrease-strategy support cards, then this combo might work better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You need to make a choice. Each of these combos work differently, and you need to start off with 1 similar strategic set. After that gets big, then you can move on to other strategies. 2 of these combinations need to sit in the dark for a while while one flourishes. Once that happens [if that happens] you can expand with other cards. And, for OCG (because you need to have OCG at least once per lecture), I found that a lot of your cards quoted this: "Special Summoned from when they are removed from play". What you want to write is "When a monster that is removed from play is Special Summoned". Don't talk like Shakespeare, this is the 21st century (rofl). I like what you did. Darth Browarod, creator of the Push (or Force, which is it?) cards, made a type of card based around playing Spells. You can't make a card text like that (If you notice, Unions, Geminis, Tuners, Spirits, all of those cards deal with themselves and select few other monsters. If you target a whole range of Spell Cards, things get out of hand quickly). You, however, made a card like Gemini monsters, but with a twist. I like that, keep going but don't forget to tie together your card texts so that they cooperate instead of conflict. And it's alright if you don't read it all. I took extra long to think about the idea... they're metagame transforming, but not overpowered. If you play your cards right (pun intended) and make sets that work together well, but don't tip the now-very precise scales, this could turn into a very good idea. Nice job Andrew.
