⚡ VR☆Flux — Mastering Union-Based Control for Any Game State

Recommended Posts

Instead of making your deck Meta (meta-game) and testing them to see if they are competetive - here's a simple test. If your archetype falters to either/both Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermanence chances are that your archetype will run out of steam quickly. Otherwise it's very resilient with a 2 endboard disruption resistance minimum. If you add on Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit - resisting destruction is good. Now you have gone up to 3 endboard resist in disruption minimum which is even better.

The yugioh card Prohibition is another way of testing your archetype.  If prohibition is activated declaring a certain card and your archetype relies on that certain card to function the archetype isn't that strong.

Case Study 1
Take the Invoked engine as a case study. If Aleister the Invoker is hit with Infinite Impermanence or Ash Blossom, the entire combo line often collapses. Without Aleister resolving, you lose access to Invocation, and your ability to summon Invoked Mechaba—a key disruption piece—vanishes. This demonstrates how a deck can be over-reliant on a single point of failure, making it fragile against common hand traps.  The Invoked engine relies on Aliester the Invoker to get its plays going so declaring it via Prohibition will shut off the engine.

Case study 2 - VR☆Flux
https://www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=17881553 - VR☆Flux
If you look at these cards we can see that VR☆Flux Marie and VR☆Flux Tess Mana search everything you need in your main deck. Marie is a big candidate for Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermanence meaning that if they hit her - Tess Mana can still get the engine going. But here's the cool part ... VR☆Flux Glitch! can be used as a backup route when Marie gets negated. And also VR☆Flux Initalize! is either Ash bait for its first bulleted effect meaning that Marie can only be stopped in infinite Impermanence hits her. VR☆Flux Cinder is also Ash Blossom and Infinite Impermanence target meaning that the deck has ways to pivot around this ... thus making it resistant to 2 negates.

VR☆Flux Aria is good for ending on going 1st and 2nd and VR☆Flux Botan Hi can be used strictly going 2nd because your opponent will fulfill that requirement thanks to this summoning condition. 1 "VR☆Flux" monster + 1 monster with 2500 or more ATK Cannot be used as Fusion Material. Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending the above cards from either field to the GY.  Tip: a 2500+ monster negate is better than a vanilla high attack beater.

Plus VR☆Flux Aria your opponent won't know if you're disrupting or protecting because of the on equip effects that happen which start on a new chain. VR☆Flux Glitch! and VR☆Flux Initialize! can be used going 1st and 2nd.

The archetype focuses on asymmetrical equip relationships - A equip B != B equip A.

just wanted to say that "meta" never meant "most efficient tactics available". That's just an acronym that was given after the term was invented. It stands for "meta-game", from the greek root "meta", which means "above" or "beyond". Just like in "metaphysics" or "metadata".
