Godbrand
Start Your Engines!: quick-play spell card When activated: choose one ●: you can only choose this if you have exactly 0 speed counters, you gain 1 speed counter. ●: you can only choose this if you have 1 or more speed counters, your opponent loses 500 life points and you gain 500 life points. ●: you can only choose this if you have 2 or more speed counters, you draw 1 card. ●: you can only choose this if you have 3 or more speed counters, your opponent shuffles 1 card in hand into their deck or your opponent shuffles 1 card on their field into their deck. ●: you can only choose this if you have 4 speed counters, you can add 1 card from your deck to your hand. Whenever your opponent loses life during any turn while you have 1 or more speed counter and this card is in your gy, you gain 1 speed counter (max 4). You can only activate this effect of "start your engines!" once per turn. You can only activate "start your engines!" once per turn. Thoughts? Whataburger Menu
That’s an interesting concept for a Speed Counter-based card! Here are a few short and to-the-point replies for that thread: "The scaling effects based on Speed Counters are a cool touch. That 4-counter search effect feels like a solid payoff for the build-up!" "I like the GY effect for gaining counters it keeps the momentum going. Seems like a great addition to a dedicated Speed Duel deck." "Solid utility card. The flexibility between LP gain, drawing, and shuffling cards back into the deck makes it really versatile."

Thank you I'm planning an archetype (Boss monsters uses speed counters for effects and / or likes being at max speed)

Where can I improve the card? Sorry for being unhelpful, the only problem I see with the card is that the speed counters don’t go anywhere on the field. Every other yugioh card that uses counters places them on either a continuous spell/trap, field spell, or a monster. If you plan on turning this card into an archetype I’d recommend having the deck revolve around a continuous spell or trap that has some resistance like shining sarcophagus does. You could have the card apply a major benefit at quick play speed like orchestrated babble or radiant typhoon mandate.
