This Generation: Politically Retarded or not?

Okay; Firstly, By "This Generation" I'm referring to anyone born from 1980 and onwards.

The concept to this debate is simple; Has this generation become politically retarded.

Though I don't have a source, many of you should know, the pope is touring Australia in a few weeks.

However, sparked by a group of teenagers, started making shirts saying "Jesus is a C**t", as a simple preach of rebellion.

With that in mind, this group has divulged to other teens, with an "Ingenious" Idea to wear these shirts to the popes tour of Brisbane. As if this rebellion will make their friends (Who the douchebags don't realize are with them.) smile at them on T.V, thinking they're hardcore.

 

So, have teen folk become these incredibly idiotic sub-group of political "rebels" that carry a retarded opinion around with pride, simply because it's not something the general public support?

Or is it actually for a cause?

For the hell of it, since the teens wearing those shirts are using this, Is freedom of speech the most anti-law law out there? Does it actually do anything then Avoid the prosecution of the jail worthy?

First off, those kids are hilarious, though it does make most teens look like not serious rebels of politics, I would still totally do that. :P

 

Second, most kids are just not serious about politics, and those who claim they are really lack key understanding of the issues. Of course, I do believe that I am serious, knowledgeable of issues, view points, and ways different leaderships affect their societies.

I will disagree with that. What makes someone jail worthy is different in every mans eyes, Stalin saw it as disobedience, you see it as insulting someone else's beliefs. I see no fault in wearing such shirts mentioned in the first place to a place where the Pope would be, because they have committed no act of violence, and they have not done anything more than protest, however offensively.

Example: I was talking with a woman the other day who said that it was outrageous how many are dying in Iraq. I told her that barely anyone was dying in Iraq, really. The bolded statement is not true. If I walk into a school and say, "funk you Mrs. Appletree (lolcats w/e their name is)" she would probably punish me. If I walked into a school and said "I dont particularly like you very much, Mrs. Appletree" she probably wouldnt react in the same way. If you say the same thing, but say it in a different way, the results will be different. You have to be careful about the way you word things, or else they will come back to bite you in the ass.

Stalin was a much better leader than Hitler, it's just that Russia had enough balls to rebel. The people under Germany wouldn't rebel against Hitler. Hitler was too easily distracted by other things. Had he never worried about killing all the Jews on earth, he would have probably led Germany to a victory in WWII. The Blitzkreig was the most powerful attack possible in that time, and Germany took down a lot of powerful places using that method. But when Hitler became so blinded by less important things than word domination, it really funked him up.

 

As far as religion being a bad thing; or a thing that needs to fade...That's not really true. Religion is a good balanced thing to have in your life. I would love to be a christian; but it's just not possible. I'm an atheist because I don't like to be given permenant guidelines such as the 10 commandments, and I find it very arrogant to assume your religion is right. However, if I did have religion, my life would probably be a lot better. Religion gives people something to believe in, and it gives people an excuse for what happens when they die. So honestly, I hope religion doesn't fade. You cant say that Mike Huckabee was a worse candidate, simply because he was a preacher. Mike Huckabee invoked a system called the Fair Tax, which would have led American tax payers to a much better financial life. It would have also ended the Well-fair system.

 

If you look at things from one side of the story, and never think about other things; you won't be too good off. If you just assume that someone is a bad candidate, simply because they are a christian, you really should look into them more before just deciding that. If you could give me a better reason for not liking Huckabee, than just because he's christian, I would have respected your answer a lot more.

I will disagree with that. What makes someone jail worthy is different in every mans eyes, Stalin saw it as disobedience, you see it as insulting someone else's beliefs. I see no fault in wearing such shirts mentioned in the first place to a place where the Pope would be, because they have committed no act of violence, and they have not done anything more than protest, however offensively.

I was talking to this 15 year old, I asked who he would vote for, if he could vote. He quickly replied Obama. I said "Okay, why do you support him?" He replied "Because he's going to bring change and hope to our country." >_> so I ask him "K, hope and change is nice and all, but what issues do you agree with him on?
