Junk Raver
Good, i thought so, as i had never seen anyone play with that rule before.
Guest JoshIcy
its not about the monsters being destroyed, or damage being dealt to players. But monsters themselves.... I'll check myself though...
MarbleZone
Monsters don't take damage, Icy... Damage Calculation is about stat comparison and the difference being dealt as damage to a player's Life Points.. Sorry, I really don't understand what you mean, maybe with an example of real cards? ;)
Dad
I found this thread very helpful. My ocg is much better than what it used to be. A smart move DJ.
texaschickenlittle
This is great. Now I can refer back here for OCG if I don't know what to write. As for additions, you should probably mention something about the affect/effect grammar mistake. I see this a lot and I've even done this myself (which I've gotten better at since I took a remedial English class). Also, mention about slang. Thats all for now. woodmouse
Thanks, now I make less ocg errors, I hope. :) But did I understand right (you know, I don't speak English naturally) that there is no different types for summoning anymore? Only summoning?
Junk Raver
If you would normally say 3 types of summon;Â "When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or Special Summoned"Â It can be simply replaced by saying;Â "Summoned"

DonRoyale
Regarding the 2000 situation, when a monster with 2000 ATK attacks a Defense Position monster with 2000 DEF, neither monster is destroyed as a result of that battle, and neither player takes Battle Damage in that battle. Effects that are Multi-Trigger ("Masked Sorcerer", "Don Zaloog", the "Dark Scorpion" cards, etc.) due to Battle Damage do not activate, nor do effects that are Trigger due to being destroyed by battle ("Mystic Tomato", "Sangan"). However, an effect that is a Trigger/Multi-Trigger due to the battle actually occuring (no examples...but includes something like "During the end of the Damage Step in a battle involving this card" or something of that nature.) DO occur. Thought I'd clear that up. I put this thread in my signature to promote improvement of OCG skills. I thought it would be best for those select few who need help with their OCG skills to get that help, and it's best to promote an important thread such as this one. Skyson
It's not necessary to put it in every individual thread. If they didn't read it when it's stickied, then it's because they didn't think it mattered enough when they made their card. Those who want to be informed will seek information. Also, I laughed. Tribute being replaced with Release, and Tribute Summon being replaced with Advance Summon. Both of the new names sound horrible. I can't wait for Special Summon to become "Extra Summon" and Normal Summon to become "Simple Summon." xD All of that aside, this guide was helpful for a re-read. Every newcomer who wants to post a card should have to read this before being able to post. :/ Good compilation.
Pistols 4 Pandas
Monsters don't take damage' date=' Icy... Damage Calculation is about stat comparison and the difference being dealt as damage to a player's Life Points.. Sorry, I really don't understand what you mean, maybe with an example of real cards? ;)[/quote'] Actually, Blackwind, he's right: Old Card Lore: Any damage inflicted by an opponent's monster is decreased to 0 during the turn this card is activated. This was Waboku's old effect. It basically said that your opponent's monsters can't inflict Battle Damage to your monsters, and therefore they're not destroyed and you take no damage. They errata'd it because nobody understood the rule, and considering Waboku is the only card I know of that deals with this rule, I'm not sure whether it still applies. But the rule did exist at one time.
