Right now I feel like s*** and I feel like one of us have to leave and he's not so I will. Today I got my report from school and here is the levels:

3 c

4 c

5 c

Those are just for year seven. He is having an Arguement over my grade. Over here, getting a higher number is better and the letter's between mean how many more till you hit the next level. I am currently on a 5B. He thinks I should be on a 7A, but I can't get to that till year 9! And he thinks that the letters are more important so he says a 4A is better than a 6C, WTF IS HE ON ABOUT!!!!!!!! I really am going to leave because that old git, doesn't know nothing!

Arguments are part of a normal relationship with a person.

I would recommend that you should calm down, and approach your father carefully, and even though he may get stressed, remain calm, and give him time to state his opinion. Once he is fully finished, carefully, and politely, state your view on things. Just remember, that since he is your father, it is his duty to help you succeed in your life. So, be patient with him. :)

Eeh 7A in Year 7? Not gunna happen.

I'm probably the best at English in my year, and the best I've got is a 7b (That was my Year 9 grade) so your Dad needs to learn how the grades work. In Year 6 I was getting levels 5b-a. I was still gettings 5a's throughout Year 7, so it wasn't until Year 8 I started earning 6's. You should show this message to your Dad, because if one of the best English students in Year 10 is not getting 7a's, then it's obvious that you wouldn't be able to get them either, not to mention that Year 7's cannot earn that high of a grade.

Tell your Dad what I've said, perhaps he'll lighten up, because you're doing great for your age.

In the US, or at least at my school, we get 7 grades (study hall doesn't count).

My last report card looked like...

PE: A (Would have been an A+ if I didn't fail the written CPR test. I passed the CPR test where you do it on a dummy though.)

Math: B+ (Meh, 92.4% is nice. .1 away from an A >_>)

English: C (Mostly because I had 3 projects due within the same week. I had to prioritize and hand in two of them late. I got an A+, a 100%, on my Final Exam if that means anything)

Biology: A (Not bad considering I was borderline C+/B the whole year ^_^)

World Histroy II: A (Again, not bad considering I was getting anything from a D to a B the whole year ^_^)

Spanish II: C (...My teacher sucked. No one did well in her class. I'm so dropping this class after Spanish III)

Band: A+ (I got a C on my final though. I suck at theory and music history)

Needless to say, my parents payed no attention to the fact I got A's in both the classes I was struggling in all year. They mostly payed attention to my English and Spanish grade (and my Math grade >_>).

Do you own a time machine? While on the forum' date=' you've gone from a 13 year old to a 18 year old to a 19 year old to a 21 year old, and now back to an 18 year old. :/

...I think Daxinator is just messing about. He's probably still 13. Wait, what I'm I on about "still" 13? But seriously Daxinator, umm... age change much?

dude stop B****ing no one cares!!!!

That earns you a neg rep. Show some respect, and this isn't the first time I've seen you say that recently either.

Ummm.... I think your dad should understand that he has a son that feels like he needs to do what he needs to do' date=' and that not all sons live up to their expectations. But for me, my dad gave up on me because I ceased to do well in school. Oh well.... I'll never really live up to anything.

Is everyone of you so perfectionistical or is it just me? O_o

My parents DO care aboutmy education. They really do. But as long as i keel getting 8-9/10s for math, physics, chemistry etc. and 6-7/10 for "lesser" subjects I'm really just fine...

Whining about a *ucking 92,4% for Math, is, how they would say in Holland, ant raping O_o

I'm not a perfectionist by any means. It's just the grading scale:

A+: 98-100

A: 93-97

B+: 90-92

B: 85-89

C+: 82-84

C: 77-81

D+: 74-76

D: 70-73

F: 0-69

And it's crazy competitive where I live. Pretty much getting below a 3.5 on your GPA means you can go to a state college. Or at least a good one. That's not good for me. I have a 3.32. Here, your GPA is directly affected by the grades you get on the awesome 7-point grading scale. :/

Your dad is crazy. I say you should make him proud by getting a 1A. XDDD

To be more serious, parent's expectations are often too high. I say you should just keep on doing as good as normal and don't mind your dad's rants. He doesn't understand the grading system anyways.

By the way, have you tried explaining it to him?
