Same Sex Marriage

I support same sex marriage.

Most people are saying that it's against god but those people don't realize that there actually just homophobes who excuse there behavior with religon.

We could compromise with them and make a word that's like marriage in every way but just sounds different.

May or may not have gotten idea from south park.[/color]

If the 2 People totally love each other then I would say yes. I used to be a Homophobe but learnt to accept it. (Still can't watch 2 Guys Kissing and stuff) And having a child would not be a problem as the 2 Guys could get a Surrogate mother to give birth to a child for them.

Also this is a free world. The whole "Gays is bad" Thing was brought on by Religion (We talked about that in another topic)

I agree with the bolded part. This topic can also bring upon many disagreements and debates. I am glad that this is in the Debates section because it has no other placement that makes any sense. Well I sorta support same sex marriage' date=' because all humans should have their own free will of who they wish to marry. If they choose to live like that we don't have enough reason to rant about them being gay or lesbian. [u']All I am saying is that we shouldn't make fun, laugh, or even try to make them feel angry and/or sad about this.[/u]

Meh I disagree with that statement. I dont think that religion brought up the theory of gays being bad. I think that people in society did; I think that people decided that gay people were abnormal. I think that religion just went along with what those people thought.

Religion is politics tool. When a minority emerges that the people cannot agree with, the government changes the way the religion is perceived (during the time of the bible of course, it was the catholic church that reigned supreme, so they could directly make a change).

So yeah, the Catholic Church is to blame for all the problems in the world.

I'm surprised no one brought up the, but marriage is something that Gof gave so that man and woman could state their faithfullness to themselves. On that issue; it doesn't matter if some Christians see a marriage as a "union under god" because thats NOT WHAT IT IS ONCE IT IS CERTIFIED BY YOUR GOVERNMENT, then it is a union between two persons so they can receive whatever benefits they wish.

Just wanted that said so it can be quoted if someone tries that line.

With or against.

An I.Q level of above 120 is needed for you to enter this debate' date=' also kids aren't allowed.

*Kids <13

I'll post my justification after someone enters.

I ****ing lol'd at the 14 year old saying "No Kids allowed"

On-topic: I'm not going to read a 9-page sleeping pill of teenagers stupid ideas on marriage, chemical imbalances, or whatever other retarded crap they pull out of their asses. My opinion on Same Sex Marriage has always been the same. Civil unions, extending the rights of married couples to same sex couples is fine. However, marriage of same sex couple in a church is not.

same sex marriage doesnt bother me... but what bothers me is the way humans should live..... grow up' date='marry,[b']have children[/b],die... keeps the cycle of life spinning

Riddle me this, who determines how life should be lived? You? The government? Your parents? An invisible deity in the sky? And invisible deity below the earth? Tom Cruise?

There is no one way of living that is better or worse then another in anyones eyes. There are ways people would want to live and ways they don't want to live, but there is no set way that we should live. Come back and debate when you have a mind of your own.

Not to get personal or whatever but you're 16. Just because you are a kid doesn't mean you should be convincing people to make more.

A bit close minded don't you think? Age in all reality only plays a role in body development, but in terms of intelligence, maturity, and experience, it's nothing but a mathematical measurement for time.

Just a general trend I've seen, that 16 year olds who... pretty much haven't even graduated high school by that point, are not in a position to make any opinions about children.

But, on-topic: Children aren't the ultimate goal of a marriage.

Again, school doesn't equate to ones knowledge. Technically, I don't have my high school degree yet, but I am a video game lead story writer as well as a programmer for an upstart company here in my town.

And that isn't even what the topic is about, it's about same sex marriage.

lol, I keep forgetting that in forums...people are potentially younger than I am. I thought it was funny too that kids was perceived as anything less than 13. Hell, I still consider myself a kid....but anyways.

The reality is...age is related to life experience, sure, but I hate it when people are shut out entirely based on age as opposed to what they have to say. I remember when my roommate pulled the same sheet on me...when's he's a year older...but like, it shouldn't matter about what someone's age is. Criticism should be made on the substance of what is said, and gawd knows that the majority of people out there in all age groups out there are ill-informed about such topics. We're in a freakin yugioh forum for crying out loud. So what matters is what's said. Speaking about what's said, I actually agree with you about this topic. Although, I'm still find with civil marriages existing, not just extending the rights of civil unions. And as for the church comment...I sort of agree with that...but your use of the word church is actually a very generalizing use I think.

When he has a mind of his own? Obviously his position is that there is a way all us humans should[/should] live. Just like how your position is that "there is no set way that we should live".

Just a thought.

Depends on what marriages means to you....

Why? Because gay people cannot make children and because the white gene pool is so poisoned as it is that people really should be adopting Asian Babies to help clear the white disorders that flow through it.

Why what? I only declared a statement of ambiguity and a question of where this thread is heading.

I agree with PikaPerson in that Civil Union should be granted to gays, but not necessarily marriage. I don't think this because of some odd religious "God doesn't like Gays" type thing. It's simple. The government has no place in marriage. It's job is to grant civil union. Churches can go do whatever they feel like doing. That's their domain.

But seriously, it's unbelievably funny the way people think that the government should go restricted who people CAN LIVE WITH. I mean come on, there IS supposed to be a separation of church and state. What next, is congress going to try to pass a law saying that all women have to wear a veil? Let people live their own lives. If they migrate to religion, kudos for them, but religious beliefs shouldn't be forced upon them.

To put it bluntly just because your attracted to a member of the same sex dose not mean you get a "get out a of marriage free card" ok so let any who wants to get married get married and where ever they want in a church, behind a tree, in a cardboard box...... it doesn't matter every one is equal in my eyes so why can't two people get married?............... there i think i got my point across

now for some one to challenge it

We need less children as of now. It was once said that an ideal world population is around 250-300 million, and I have to concur with it. An increase in the G/L population would really... help our population.

I don't get why anybody even debates about gay marriage. It's not really important >_>.

If they want to get married who cares. Marriage is just a document. :|

They shouldn't be allowed to adopt though.

Neither should straight people who believe in imaginary Deities.

Religion is an everyday part of life for the majority of people. It is a small percentage of people who is homosexual. There is a vast difference.

Democracy works so that the majority can take the rights of the minority.

Democracy is fallacy in justification of anything. Regardless of the number of people, the fact of the matter is that you are denying people the right to raise children. A single death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic. Numbers and percents, in terms of human rights (and disasters) are irrelevant. If we deny Gays the right to raise children because of its abnormality, then it is just as ok to deny the right for people who have faith in something they cannot sense with real world senses the right to raise children.
