Skuldur
okay Species come and go, so Humanity will die out someday, this has proven itself many times. There is going to be a new Ice Age and there's nothing we can do about it. and the water level will rise if the Glaciers melt, it doesnt matter if the sea level rises 2 inches it will still disrupt sea currents, and the Golf Stream(think it's called that, don't remember the english name) might disappear making live on Iceland and Britain to cold.Bush is an idiot he has proven that many times, Muslims are not bad people, there are a selected few that are violent and kill people. Willie, you're just basing your thoughts on Stereotypes, it's like saying all Americans are fat and stupid, but that's not the truth.Obama is a good candidate, i have nothing against McCain but i like Obama betterthe reason why the earth was much hotter when the Dinosaurs were alive was probably that volcanos were a lot more active back then and the Earth was a lot younger and much warmer. that's enought rambling for a while
Willieh
^ ................ Lol? The human race will never end.Obama is a horrible candidate EVEN if he isn't a muslim. And I'm not using muslims as a stereotype, I'm pointing out a FACT. Stereotypes don't tend to be true; however this one is true. I scoff at people who think that the world is going to end. Because it isn't. The world never started, the world will never end.

Willieh
Humans will never end. I don't give a flying funk how many missles you send out. There are billions of us. There's bound to be at least a few hundred-thousand people surviving after even the biggest nuclear war.
MasterOfMagicians
I only read through the first couple of posts (because I don't have the patience to read through multiple pages of ignorance in the hopes of finding 1 or 2 bright comments about the topic). 1) Global Warming does exist. It is a historical fact that the Earth goes through transitions. It will happen again. The ice caps will melt, the environment will change, subtropical climates to ice age to normal again. Its a natural balance that will continue for millennium like it always has. Global Warming like the "experts" predict, while possible, is not what is going on. 2) The Earths temperature over the years is dropping, not increasing. The average has actually gone down by 1-3 degrees over the last 100 years. 3) While the chemicals we are using could be damaging the environment, it is not such that it is vastly changing the way the environment works. It is the natural way of life and if the earth is changing in such a way to make it inhospitable for humans, that may or may not be our fault. It could be the chemicals, or it could be the natural way of the planet. Why do you think we are studying mars so closely? Perhaps millions of years ago, Mars hosted life and their planet went its natural processes and eventually became inhospitable naturally. The human factor is not great enough that it effects the earth THAT much. If we were to disappear tomorrow, in 500,000 years, all traces of us would be gone. Everything would have decomposed and gone back into the earth the way it was when we found it. That's it, 500,000 years. In 50,000 years everything except radioactive wastes would be gone. So try and convince me that the human factor is the one destroying the earth. Perhaps its the earth destroying the human factor. Think about it. Static
Humans will never end. I don't give a flying f*** how many missles you send out. There are billions of us. There's bound to be at least a few hundred-thousand people surviving after even the biggest nuclear war. Nuclear Radiation sterilizes, and penetrates all but the thickest concrete and lead walls. Some may live, but none will be born, lest there are sub terranean people who will survive the nuclear holocaust.
MasterOfMagicians
How did this debate go from being about global warming to nuclear holocaust? Fact:IF the countries of the world were to just start firing nuclear missiles at each other, EVERYBODY would die. Maybe not from direct impact or even from the explosion or radiation, or radiation poisoning that would effect humans for thousands upon thousands of years. The world would be sent into what is called a nuclear winter. NOBODY would survive the nuclear winter. Why? Anything that was hit and was close enough to the blast would be incinerated. Chances are if people are firing missiles left and right, you are going to get pretty good coverage. There won't be food, there won't be clean drinking water, there won't be clothing, there won't be shelter. Without shelter and descent economic conditions you can survive quite a while.Even without clothes you can survive if the weather is right. You can survive without food for quite some time. You can survive without water for approximately 3 days. You'll survive a lot less if you are drinking contaminated drinking water. Not only from the radiation but from all the dead bodies that would be floating in it, human and animal alike, not to mention all the chemicals that we have lying around the world. Oh, and so I don't forget to mention, the chemicals used in water treatment facilities. Those are carefully regulated to ensure they don't poison the populations of the world, if the facilities go up in smoke, who's to regulate all those chemicals spilling out into our drinking water? So, to answer whoever was stupid enough to say we could survive a nuclear holocaust, we can't.If water is contaminated, we can't drink it. If we can't find suitable drinking water, we die. Any of the survivers, die from radiation poisoning, starvation, or exposure to the elements.
Willieh
The debate was never about global warming. It's just some people like to bring it up even though it's a useless subject. @ Static: I seriously doubt that there would be no people who could make it through a nuclear holocost and still be able to have a child. Like I said before, there would have to be at least hundreds of thousands of survivors, at the least. Hell, a couple million survivors wouldn't surprise me. Not really. I'm just looking at the mathematical view of it. I find it impossible for humans to become extinct. But in a way I guess that is kind of the optimist way to look at it :\ lol Just remember. The glass isn't half way empty, it's half way filled! Static
When its filled with things from 2g1c, I hope to god it's half empty. *shudder* On topic, nuclear radiation covers the earth, resources outside of first world countries aren't enough to even come close to sustaining population, let alone keep anyone alive at all. Its highly doubtful anyone would survive.
