Some of you might remember the Debater's (Debator's) Club Challenge ^^ thread that loomed around general for a while.

The topic is: Human Genetic Modification.

The Debate is: Should Human Beings, given the Technology, be allowed to genetically modify themselves, their offspring and/or their society?

Key Issue's: Ethics/Humanity, Human Rights, Social Structure

 

Since I do not like to start debates with long paragraph intros, or at least at the moment I would not like to, let me open for the side of "Not the Debators Club" with a brief summary.

 

Human Genetic Modification should be utilized if the technology is available. It is our duty as a race to make society as best for the people as we can, and making them naturally better at life is creating a better society for the whole. The more we put to use the technological resources we have to use, the more advanced our race will become, and if that comes from making our children more prepared for the real world by some sort of alteration to who they would be in purest form, then so be it, we are helping them achieve their best potential before they are even born.

 

The Opposition's opening statement should be Posted, and I will post it in the "Reserved Thread" that I will make following this one. Wait, they're gonna have to "Approve" the thread, and I will not be around when this happens, so I guess just post it, and I will edit into this post, over this paragraph. Thanks.
