The End Draws Nigh...

Sorry for the corny name. I just thought it might attract attention :P

Anyway...

Here's what this thread is about. I believe the world is slowly, yet surely, coming to an end.

As many people have noticed, yet ignored, more than a quarter of the population of bees on earth have died.

You might not take this as a serious problem. But I think that the world is coming to an end based on that.

The human race relys heavily on the honey bees. Another thing that you might notice is that there have been massive floods/storms in Iowa (thnx Wombat). This is also important because most of the corn in America is received from Iowa. Think about all of the products that have some type of corn product in them...things you might overlook like soda.

Basically I'm just wanting to know what you guys' oppinion on this is. Do you think I'm just a paranoid whacko, or do you seriously think that the world might be coming to an end?

debatez.

I'm pretty sure we could recover from a lack of honey. The corn thing may be a small economic problem if floods continue and no where else decides to start making more corn. But for these to end the world, it would take a lot of time and we'll probably find some other way to kill ourselves before then. At the moment it's nothing to worry about and won't cause the end of the world because there's always alternatives. I'm sure scientists are smart enough to spot this before it becomes a matter of life or death. So, I think you're thinking right but you may be a little too paranoid.

Correction: The earth is fine. It's we that are coming to an end. The earth will live on for some time' date=' but our lives are limited.

[/quote']

Actually the term "The world is coming to an end" implies that all the people are going to die. It's not saying that the earth itself is coming to an end; but rather that our wordly lives are coming to and end.

A more accurate way to put it would be, "The world is coming to an end for us" but the term "The world is coming to an end" is just as specific.

Well then I guess we're in agreement. No need for further debate on my end.

( If anyone says global warming' date=' gtfo. )

I believe that's something we can all agree on.

As for how, I forsee it being ourselves. One country with nukes will finally decide to use them, then a chain reaction shall follow where all countries will use their supply. Anyone play the game Cold Winter? Picture that.

I've never played the game but nuclear warfare is definitely my theory of how we're all going out.

I think that it would be cool if a series of natural disasters will ultimately lead to our death. Natural disaster is ultimately unnavoidable; and it's fun to watch to. (not saying that people dying is fun; but the disaster itself looks cool)

What if you found out that nature was a living organism; being this. Nature can control what it does, it just leaves evidence behind as to how it did it. That would be so weird...

The games main story has you playing as an agent who is trying to stop these mad men from starting a 'Cold Winter', otherwise known as a Nuclear Winter. It's a theory that says if too many Nuclear Bombs are set off, it will cause a chain reaction that'll blanket the earth in a constant nuclear radiation snow fall that'll block out the sun and kill off the majority of the human race.

So, this would mean we could literally kill nature? ( Let's try stay on topic of end of the world. :p )

Vain: Though I'm not to sure that would actually happen, that is an interesting theory.

okkkk...

I don't really like honey, and it isn't really in alot, so...

You do know the bees faced extinction before, it's the climate. They moved before cas the weather wasn't right for there species, so they moved, and now i haven't a clue what there doing, by the looks of things, there not doing anything. I don't honestly think the world will end yet, but there are many worries, like climate change, the moon moving 1cm away from the Earth every week or 2... but the end is not yet...

Hey Willie' date=' you have your facts mixed up. Idaho has been fine recently, I think you meant Iowa. Idaho = Potatoes, Iowa = Corn. And Iowa has been flooding a lot.

I imagine the end of the world being brought about by an asteroid.

Yeah Wombat. I meant Iowa. Thnx for catching that lol.

I get a lot of names mixed up for some reason...:O
