Because so many people believe the world will end, the day before (Dec 20, 2012), there will be a mass suicide rage. More than half the world will suicide and die, because they are stupid enough to fall for a poorly planned hoax. The (approx.) 33% of the world that does not suicide because they are geniuses will continue living out life without the nuisance of morons. This is quite an assumption, but let us assume each hurricane/earthquake/tornado that happens around 2012 will kill 10,000 people. It's quite a lot, but now you can't yell at me for underestimating. 6 billion+ people in this world. 6,000,000,000 / 10,000 600,000 / 1 It would take a combination of 600,000 hurricanes or earthquakes or whatever to kill us all. Actually, when you look at it carefully, this could very well be true. Hollywood dates back to awhile ago, and even before that there were people who liked acting but didn't have a name. This chain could go all the way back to the Mayans. The Mayans were advanced, so they probably knew that we would have video cameras in the future. Therefore, the ended their calender on a random day after the year 2000 knowing that they could make money off of a movie about this. So don't rule out anything yet.
