Dale had his duel disk already set, he had checked for flaws in his deck before the duel, as this was the Duel Academy Cup match that only the best of the best got to compete in. Alex: You bet Dale! I am going to cream you! Duel Start; Dale: 4000LP|Alex: 4000LP Dale: I will go first! Dale drew a card. Dale: I activate a card called Final Countdown! A large circle, with 20 flaming fire balls appeared above the arena. Alex: Not that! That makes you win after 20 turns! Dale: Ah, so you have faced it before? Well you should know its powers then! Next, I summon Rifel, the Flame Outcaster! A large soldier hologram, flaming with a shield and fire surrounding one arm appeared. Suddenly, it raised its arm and sent a shower of embers in Alex's direction. Dale: 4000|Alex: 3500 Alex holds his stomach from being burned. He had no idea what had happened. Dale: You see Alex! When I summon my Rifel, he automatically inflicts 500 points of damage directly to you! Alex: Heh, a few embers won't bring me down! Dale: We will see about that.....Your move! A flame dropped from the ring. Turns left: 19 Alex drew a card, then a pond appeared in the middle of the arena. Dale: Hmm!? What is this!? Alex: This, Dale, is my Pond of Serpents! You see, whenever I draw it during my draw phase, I can activate it! And if I have no other monsters on the field, I can Special Summon 1 Sea Serpent-Type monster from my hand! So go! Serpent Nightmare LV4! A fairly small Serpent appeared. It seemed to lack eyes and had a rounded head. Alex: Next, I will tribute my Serpent Nightmare LV4 in order to summon, Serpent Nightmare LV6! A similar creature, yet larger with large fins sprouting from its head, appeared in front of Alex. Alex: Now, Serpent Nightmare LV6, extinguish Refil! Surfing Nightmare Attack!!! Refil was engulfed by a wave that came from the pond. After the wave washed back, Refil had been sent to the Graveyard. Alex: I end my turn by setting one S/T! A flame dropped from the ring. Turns left: 18 Dale: Firstly, I activate a card called Hot and Cool. What this allows me to do is Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Pyro-Type FIRE monster from my Graveyard, so I choose the only one in my grave! Come back my Refil!!! The smoldering warrior appeared again. And raised its arm to fire embers at Alex, but suddenly the arm of Refil hardened and broke off. Dale: WHAT!? Alex: Ha, you feel right into my Serpent Nightmare's trap! By discarding my Angelic, Angel of Serpents from my hand to the Graveyard, your monsters effect is negated! Alex watched Refil sink in to molten lava, then took the form of a card. Alex: Huh? Dale: You made a mistake! You see, when my monster's summon or effect is negated, I can make him a molten token! And if you destroy my Molten Token, you take 1000 points of damage! I end my turn by setting a s/t! Now go! A flame dropped from the ring. Turns left: 17 Alex: Hah! Your end is near! I activate my Serpent Nightmare LV6's effect! A large moan ran across the arena, sending the chills down spectators spines. A large shadow appeared in the pond, it seemed to be bigger than the arena as far as everyone could see. Alex: This, Dale, is Serpent Nightmare LV9!!!!!!!!! My ultimate creature! Now I activate the Field Spell, Acsis! Suddenly a large glass walled separated the spectators. The entire arena filled with water and oxygen masks appeared on Dale and Alex's faces. Dale: What is this!? Alex: This? Why this is just Acsis! Which gives all of my Serpents a 500 ATK and DEF boost! The large being was coiled up above the arena, its attack and defense increased so it was 3600/3000. Alex: Your finished! Now I will summon my Sea Serpent of Acsis - Geliti! Now attack that token, Geliti! The Serpent took a bite out of the token and it got destroyed. Dale: 2350|Alex: 2500 Alex: Now, attack his Life Points directly Serpent Nightmare!!!!! The large serpent barely budged and reached down and a large blast of energy released from its mouth. Dale: Not so fast! I activate Revelations of Pyrotechnics, and this allows me to Special Summon 1 Level 4 Pyro-Type monster from my Graveyard! The trap seemed to be malfunctioning, as nothing happened. Dale: What? Alex: Im sorry Dale, did I forget to mention Serpent Nightmare's special ability? You see, you can't Summon any Effect monsters while he is around! The attack from the Serpent continued, and Dale's Life Points were depleted to 0. Dale: 0|Alex: 2500 End Prologue. Hope you stick around for episode 1. Yogg-Saron
[spoiler=Episode 1: The Legendary Beings!?]Alex: What happened Dale!? That wasn't quite the match I was expecting! Dale said nothing and promptly walked out of the arena. Cathy and Shox rushed over to Alex, and congratulated him. Cathy: That was an amazing duel Alex! I wish I could duel like that! Shox: Nice job man, maybe I will be in that Championship next time. Alex: Thanks guys.......Hey, I will catch up with you two later, I need to talk to Dale. Alex walked out of the arena and started searching for Dale. He was having no luck when finally, he found Dale at the shore below the cliff. Alex walked over to him. Alex: Dale, that was quite a duel huh? Dale: Get out of here! Just go away! Alex: Dale! I'm just trying to talk to you, yet your going to be rude? Fine, if you don't want this card I will keep it, and its rather rare! Alex slowly walked off, knowing Dale would fall for the bait. Dale: Wait, Alex. Which card is it? Alex: See for yourself. Alex handed him the card. It was Dark Armed Dragon, there are only three that exist. Dale: One of the three Dark Armed Dragons! Alex: Yep, and I have it! But, since you obviously don't want it, I will leave now. Alex tossed the card on the ground as he was walking. Alex: It is of no use to me...does not go with the theme of my deck. Dale: No use to you!? That is one of the 3 legendary beings! The so called "Legendary Beings" were part of a three card powerhouse. Judgment Dragon, master of the Lightsworns. Dark Armed Dragon, master of the Darks. And Gyzarus, master of the Gladiator Beasts. Alex: Yes well, they aren't that special, besides costing a pretty penny, they only work for certain deck-types, and none of them happen to be mine. Dale: So!? You still have a very rare card on your hands. Dale picked up the card, wiping the sand off to reveal a shiny, holo cover with silver lettering. Alex walked on, ignoring everything. Dale: Wait...Alex, come back. Alex and Dale talked, and later exchanged decks to look at each others cards. Alex: I like your deck, Dale! However, if you want to focus it on Final Countdown more, add Turn Jumps. Dale: If I had them I would add them, however that is a very card. Alex: I have one. So it must not be that rare. C'mon back to the dorm with me. Dale followed Alex to his dorm. Alex had the room to himself and had glass cases full of rare cards. Dale: Man, I'm rich but geez, you must be a billionare! Alex: Not exactly, these are cards that I have won from contests. And they Dark Armed Dragon there, thats from coming Second in the World Championships. I lost to a person named Jaden Yuki. Dale: Jaden Yuki!? The legendary duelist!? Alex: I suppose, however I would have beaten him if he hadn't used that card right there, Dark Armed Dragon. It is very powerful. Dale: Dark Armed Dragon? I thought Jaden ran the Elemental Heroes? Alex: Well, he was going through a phase his friends said, and instead he used cards called "Evil Heroes". Dale looked at the Dark Armed Dragon, and on the back was Jaden's signature, a bit smudged though. Alex: You can have that card there Dale. You deserve it for the great duel you put on today. Dale: Ah yes, the duel. I didn't do my very best on it, I was to focused on burning you, I forgot about strategy I guess. Alex: Well....first thing is..... Suddenly a large rumble was heard. Dale and Alex got under a desk until the shaking stopped. Then quickly went outside. Dale: Whats out their Alex!? Alex looked around, and saw nothing then suddenly the rumbling started again. The door shut behind Alex and he fell off the balcony, landing on his back and passed out. Alex woke up in what seemed to be a cavern. He wandered around, and came a across a wall that had a stand. It read "Shall Thy Bring The Legendary Beings Uponset With Wishes." Nine card slots were on a platform, just above the stand. They were in rows of three and were separated by "Dark Armed Dragon", "Judgment Dragon", and "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus." Voice: So! Alex! You seemed to have notice the Prophet's Platform and Stand! Alex turned around stunned. Alex: Who....who are you! Voice: I am Hearth, the keeper of this cavern. You were sent here by my Sorrow Soul Daemons as you have control of what is inscribed there, Dark Armed Dragon! And I have the last two right here! Hearth pulled out two Dark Armed Dragons and placed them in the two slots were they were meant to go. Hearth: Now, lets not fight over this, hand over the Dark Armed Dragon! Alex: Why do you want it!? Hearth: Because, if I have all 3 copies of each Legendary Being, I shall gain infinite power and riches! Alex: I would never give it to your for something like that! Besides, I do not have it anymore! Hearth: Then who has it!!! Alex: My friend, Dale! The cavern went black, and Alex passed out yet again. He woke up were he fell off the balcony. Shox: Alex! Alex! Cathy: Alex! Wake up! Alex opened his eyes some more and looked up at the sky. He wondered what had happened. Alex: Wha....what happened. Cathy: Earthquakes, Alex! The headmaster said it might be from the volcano. Alex stood up. Alex: Wheres Dale? Shox: Dale? We haven't seen him why? Alex took off running to the shore. Hoping he would catch Dale, then suddenly he saw Dale and what looked like to be Hearth! Alex: Hearth!? Dale!? Dale turned and saw Alex. Dale: Alex! Your awake! This crazy guy thinks he can beat me! Hearth: Well, its about time you showed up Alex! Alex: Huh? How do you know my name anyways! The duel had already begun. Dale: 1000LP|Hearth: 200LP Hearth: My go. I draw. Wow, today is your lucky day Dale, or it could be your unlucky day. I reveal face-down, go Paths of Destiny! Two large coins appeared. Hearth: You see, with this card, I can flip a coin, and if its heads I gain 2000 Life Points, but if its Tails I lose 2000! And the same applies to you Dale! Hearth flipped his coin first and it landed on Heads. Hearth: Well what do ya know, I gain 2000 Life Points! Dale: Gah! It all depends on this coin toss. Dale flipped his coin and it landed and spun on the side for a short while. Then it finally landed. Dale: NO! Tails! Dale's Life Points drop to 0. Hearth: It seems I won, Dale! Now give me your Dark Armed Dragon! Alex: WHAT!? Dale: I'm sorry Alex! But he offered a practice duel to see how good he was at first, and he sucked! I put up the Dark Armed Dragon if I lost! Alex: I....I can't believe you Dale. Dale and Alex looked around, and Hearth had disappeared, along with Dale's Dark Armed Dragon.
