krishna_defier
Before you read the fanfiction you should know one thing. I love to write. However, when I write something, I tend … well not to finish. If you like this fiction, please let me know, and give me some advice… keep me motivated! With that said, this is a story that takes place in the fictional world of Duel Monsters that my friends and I like to call “Tamashii”. This is one little skull servant’s story. This section was inspired by this picture:http://images.wikia.com/yugioh/images/6/65/AngelLift-JP-Anime-5D.pngThis first chapter is a little short. I hope to make the next ones longer, but I am content with how this first one turned out. It's just an introductory chapter. Chapter oneAngel Lift. ‘What… what’s going on?’‘Where am I?’‘And… what is that … sound?’ Through the darkness that surrounded him, a tiny light began to emerge from above. And yet, this light was in front of him, was he sleeping? Or merely just resting? Whatever the case, he was laying on his back. Then, there was that sound. This sound was something he recognized immediately, it was the sound of dirt being pushed around on top of wood. Why was it so dark in here? Where was here, anyway? The sound stopped, and the light got brighter. He could see so much better now, in front of him there was what appeared to be wood with thin cracks in it that allowed the light to penetrate his enclosure. Before he could think too deeply on what the enclosure was, it was being busted open, and a fairy - or was it an angel? - hovered effortlessly above him.“Come with me, you poor, poor soul.” The angel said with such sorrow in her voice. Before he knew it he was being pulled up out of his box by his arms, backwards. Rocks and dirt came up with him as he was reborn into the sunlight. The sun did not hurt his eyes, like he expected, and as he looked down his dark velvet cloak, he wondered what exactly was going on.‘Why am I being pulled out of the ground?’ he asked the angel, but no words came out, he could only hear his own thoughts. When the angel rested the cloaked man’s body on the ground it began to chant little words that sounded like a magic spell. Suddenly he could feel his entire body coming back to him, and he was able to sit up. “What… What’s going on?” He was finally able to spit out. As he did some dirt came out of his mouth, but he did not taste it. His cloak was dirty and had several small tears in it, which made the situation seem even more depressing. “Please allow me to explain.” The tiny angel began. The angel was so bright, that he couldn’t see her through the light, but his eyes were unaffected by pain, and he did not squint them –no, he could not squint them. “I brought you back from the dead because you performed an act of kindness to me while you were alive. I know this isn’t very much, but I wanted to repay you.” “What did I do for you?” the man asked when she finished. Speaking felt very strange to him, and as he lifted his arms up to view his skeletal hands, he realized that he must have been dead for some time. He touched his own face to find that, similarly to his hands, he had no skin or flesh there. His eyes were missing as well, and yet he was able to see through the empty sockets. Just, how could this be? “And who … was I?” “Who you were was never revealed to me in the short time that I knew you. When you were alive you rescued me from an orange skinned goblin who wore purple clothes. He had caged me up and was planning on using my magic for evil. When you appeared and attacked him, the cage was dropped and broken, and we were able to flee, but we didn’t get too far before that Phantom’s minions attacked and killed you. I am sorry I was not able to help you then, but I came back as I had promised, and now you can exact your revenge on this demon.” “And how exactly do you suggest I do that?” the skeletal zombie asked while slowly getting to his feet. “I’m just a skeleton now… You’re pure and good, but look at me, I’m a monster.” “We’re all monsters in this great land of Tamashii; whether you are beast, fiend, human, or angel. I will help you in your quest; after all, I am indebted to you. I may not be able to do much, but as we journey I will be able to grow and become more useful. You’ve only been gone a year, but the world has changed dramatically since then, you would be wise to be careful.” “Can you please tell me my name? As well as yours?” the skeleton asked his fairy companion. The angel’s light slowly dimmed and he could see a pink circular ball with wings. “I have no name, but you may call me Petit. As for your name, even I do not know it. The goblin called you his servant, just before you rescued me, so I shall call you Skull Servant.”
