Bloodlust Golem - A powerful way to distribute Revenge Counters

Hello everyone. I have another card for you to rate/hate/comment. I have a card that goes off the mechanics behind my "Revenge Counter" set that I made some time ago. This card works off the power of these counters, making your opponent want to get rid of any of their cards with Revenge Counters on them faster than before. The fun thing is that this monster gives your opponent that chance to stop its rampage at the cost of putting 1 Revenge Counter on the attack target. Without further ado:

CARD TEXT

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card's ATK and DEF cannot be increased except by its own effect. This card's ATK and DEF are both equal to the number of Revenge Counters on the field x 400. If this card attacks, your opponent can place 1 Revenge Counter on the attack target to negate the attack. When this card is destroyed, you take 100 damage for each Revenge Counter on the field.

I like it. Are there other cards with revenge counters though? If not, this card would be useless because it has to attack for revenge counters to be placed on the field. Why would your opponent negate the attack of a monster with 0 ATK?

Umm, it's kind of underpowerd to me. I know it gets ATK for a revenge counter, but, your opponent can just kill the thing and just give you damage. It's underpowerd to me...

@Yankeefan - I understand where you're coming from. The thing about Revenge Counters are that they are risky. Since the other cards can put out Revenge Counters quickly, this card had to have a drawback since it could attain unbelievable power quickly. Thank you for your input, though. It is much appreciated.

OCG fixes: Put quotation marks around the first instance of Revenge Counters.

 

Effect evaluation: The "put counter to negate attack" is interesting; never seen it done before. This seems well-balanced, and you seem to seal up any possible broken-ness. 8.5/10
