  1. 1. Are these thought-provoking?

Explain your position to each scenario posted. Do not look if these might offend you (they somewhat involve religion).

1. Which is worse, indoctrinating a belief system that most people will find blasphemous or creating a 'perfect' society through force and genetic torture?

2. A girl is tormented by everyone around her and is labeled the anti-prophet, sometimes even a demon. Unfortunately, the girl was born a demon, but she did not know. After a strange dream, she turns into one gradually. She still held faith in the goodness of mankind and a benevolent deity, but eventually turned psychotic because of her inexplicable suffering humans and other beings still put her through. Is this believable and who was more vile, the tormented girl or the village?

3. A boy was raised in a religious community and he believed in the religion until war-waging religious extremists killed everyone around him. Since then, he has declared that (insert head god) does not exist. Who was more blasphemous, the religious zealots or the boy?

Everyone overreacts with religion.

There's extremists, sure, but seriously, the majority just chill and obey quietly.

All I'm saying is your making religion look like more garbage than it sometimes is.

=/.

1) Nazi outlook. Simply. :D.

2)Your milking a sad situation here. Firstly, the villagers abuse the girl so commonly out of fear, and want for peace. They need the dominance, and cannot afford a demon coming out, and just laying waste to em' all. The problem with the little girl, though, is the fact she had faith in man-kind. How conflicting is that? If they are being so abusive, and tormenting, why would you go.. "Mankind can still be good." Pointless perspective, therefore, the lack of independent thinking of the girl results in her situation being in control of the villagers. Which is a bad thing, for her. She IS a demon though, so her fate is to be a demon. Making a demon seem like it shouldn't be a demon is stupid.

=/. Little girls more vile.

3)(Insert God Here) despite the absence of intervention, would most likely consider the little boy to be the most blasphemous. Since the child denied faith all together, whilst the extremists killed everyone as an act of faith.

=/.

Yeah. :D.

Well, I was playing Tales of Symphonia w/my brother, and he was discussing some religious implications the game might have. We got a general outline of religion in class, and I wanted to find out more. That's when I found out about the Inquisition and such, not to mention that Hitler was religious (because I wanted to learn more and looked in the wrong places). Of course, I realize that not every religious person is like the Inquisitors or Hitler.

1: The fight for a perfect society is less desirable from my standpoint.

2: The girl. If the village knows she is a demon, then actions to the highest extent should be taken in order to provide a fair environment for the majority. (if static reads that he will eat it alive...I know...)

3: Meh. It depends on your point of view. Are you religious or not? If you are religious: the boy. If you are not: then the alternative.
