The Dark One

D'espairsRay - Garnet <--- One of the best songs in the world. (In Vain is probably better, though there isn't a music video for it, which is why I didn't post it.)

Monsters: 20

3 Van’Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord

2 Darklord Zerato

3 Splendid Venus

2 Hecatrice

3 Bountiful Artemis

2 Harvest Angel of Wisdom

2 Honest

2 Dark Valkyria

1 D.D. Crow

Spells: 10

3 Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen

3 Trade In

3 Allure of Darkness

1 Monster Reborn

Traps: 10

3 Solemn Judgment

3 Dark Bribe

2 Magic Drain

2 Divine Wrath

If anyone has any questions regarding certain card choices, I would be glad to answer them.

What do you think?

(EDIT: I have yet to figure out how to embed a video, any help there?)

It's better to draw the searchers. By searching out the field spell they thin the deck by one more card, and they can also be summoned/set if I need to do so. The advantage of running more of the field spell is the better redundancy. Your opponent has to destroy more copies of the card before you have nothing left.

I'll have to see what everyone else thinks before deciding either way.

Pardon my igonrance on these matters as I haven't played Counter-Fairies for some time, but why run Darklord here? For each copy, you have... 7 potential discard fodder for the field clearing.

... or are the 2 there for Trade-In and Allure fodder and their being Fairies (and thus Valhalla-worthy) more than anything else?

Darklord isn't run in normal Counter Fairies, but normal Counter Fairies don't run Valhalla or draw cards.

A big part of his playability in this deck is his compatibility with both draw cards and Valhalla, in fact that's a pretty huge part. But 7 targets really is enough to make his effect go off relatively reliably, especially since I have the necessary draw cards to turbo towards a second DARK.

I've changed the ratio to 3 Valhalla, 2 Hecatrice.

I've just made the following changes:

-1 Dark Valkyria

+1 DD Crow

I'm one of the biggest advocates of Crow out there, it's just the perfect fit for this meta. Tele-DAD gets killed by it. Glads are hit hard by it, Monarchs, it even has a significant impact on Lightsworn. It also happens to be DARK, so I'm not taking away from my total of allurable monsters by removing Dark Valkyria.

I opted not to include Freed as Benraino suggested because Dark Valkyria is basically a one-shot version of the same monster. On top of that, Darklord Zerato can also clear my opponent's field of monsters. More monster based monster removal really isn't necessary.

Thoughts?
