Then people clearly don't get it.

 

Instant Fusion is -1 for Reaper on the Nightmare or Darkfire dragon to finish a synchro.

 

Mind control is 1-1 that, although you may not get to be sure on which synchro you get out, in most cases, if you're summoning Goyo, Black Rose, or Stardust, its not nearly as relevant. They have less cards to defend themselves with after using mind control, which, in most cases, is more relevant than which synchro you get out.

IMO Instant Fusion>Mind control barely because Instant Fusion is easier to get the level you need for the synchro.

instant fusion is better but just barely, mainly the fact of a more variety of levels and you get to choose the level. however mind control has more use outside synchro

If you're saying that Instant Fusion > Mind Control, then please think about the fact that if you want to be able to choose any LV, you also need to put those Fusion Monsters in your Extra Deck, while there's a limit of 15 cards in it.

I'd only use Instant Fusion in Zombies because of Reaper on the Nightmare, but spilling +/- 5 places in your Extra Deck to be able to choose any level, nah.
