Since there are mostly Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfics, I decided to make a differrent one.:)

Bio: Unfortunately, his history is clouded even to him. The only thing he knows is that his father is dead, and his mother is missing. He lives an assassin’s life, but also his desire is to discover what happened, how did it happen, and who did anything to his parents. He is currently working on retrieving a magical gauntlet for his master. The gauntlet is called ‘The Dead Man’s Hand’. But, what he doesn’t know is WHAT those powers are…

Bio: He is Zeo’s best friend, he was the first to come and calm him down 15 years ago. Through the years they became partners in the work. Of course, they are assigned to this task together too. Their fates will be uncloaked on this journey…

Gender: Male

Bio: Salazaar is the master of the assassins guild where Zeo and Walt work. His past is unknown to anyone, but himself. Whosoever heared any part of the story, didn’t live long enough to tell. Nobody has ever seen his face. Of course, he didn’t send his men into that danger to only get some simple gauntlet. It appears that he knows more than he wants to tell…

Bio: He is the king of Cralitinus, the land where the story is happening. He also knows about The Deadman’s Hand, and wants to get it from unknown reasons. He sent a battalion of his best knights to take it.

A cold winter night in Daedrie. All was quiet. And nobody was on the streets. That is the regular picture of that town at night. Except, one man, in a coat, with a hood walked to a small house. The man looked very young, maybe even not eighteen years old. But his steps were determined, and nothing could stop him. A sharp iron dagger was hidden in his coat. He also took a lockpick, just in case. He reached the door, and stood in front of them. Does he have to do this? Of course he does. That’s what his job requests. He took his lockpick and broke the door’s lock. Slowly and gently, he opened the door and looked around. He saw 2 people, a man and a woman, sleeping. He approached the man, took out his dagger and cut his throat. Then he wrote a note on a paper:

 

“He is dead. Leave the village tomorrow.”

The man put the note on the woman’s stomach, left out of the house, and hid his dagger inside his coat. A job well done, he thought, as he walked towards the darkness of the peacefull village.

Chapter I – The Journey Starts

 

15 years later…

 

It was the dawn of a new day in the village of Daedrie. Nobody was yet awake, and the streets were empty, except for some traveling sellers, who passed through the village every day. The village in fact, wasn’t so small – it had a church, a town hall, an inn, and many houses. The houses were mostly black and white, but some of those rich people made up their houses in different colors. There was a big graveyard behind the village, in a ridge. They call it valley of heroes, because there are buried some of the most brave people from their land.

 

Zeo Shinoda suddenly woke up. Of course, he woke up alone. For 15 years it has been like that. He’d wake up, no one by his side, no one to make him a breakfast, no one to wish him a good morning. No one. With his mother lost, and his father dead, he was left alone. The only thing he’s got left is his Assassin’s Guild. Not even the King could do anything to them. They were almost invincible. Almost.

 

He put on some clothes, and went out into the village. Zeo was a regular guest at the “Howling Paw Inn”. He could be found there everyday. But for one special reason: that somewhat simple building, two-floored, was in fact the HQ of his Assassin’s Guild, “The Black Dragons”.

 

He reached the wooden door, and opened it. Walking up to the bar, Zeo looked around the inn. None of his co-workers. Good. He will be able to eat something before the work. He reached the bar, and talked to the bartender.

 

Zeo: “Have any ale?”

 

Bartender: “No, only this perfect red wine.”

 

Zeo: “Nothing then. Tell me when you get some ale”

 

Bartender: “What can I do for you, Zeo?”

 

The conversation between them was, in fact, a password.

 

Zeo: “Give me something to eat, man”

 

The bartender put a beautifully roasted chicken buttock in front of Zeo.

 

Zeo: “Great!”

 

Zeo ate the buttock quickly then got upstairs. He opened the door, and saw two men, one dressed in a blue coat, and the other with a hood over his head sitting on the chairs. The first one was his best friend, Walter. And the other, that was Salazaar, his master.

 

Zeo: “Hello, Master.”

 

Salazaar: “Sit here, Zeo”

 

Zeo took a seat on a rusty chair.

 

Zeo: “Where are the others?”

 

Salazaar: “I released them for this day. The reason is that I have a special task for you two.”

 

Walter: “What task?”

 

Salazaar: “There is a gauntlet, on the hill Derrylgore. It’s called ‘The Dead Man’s Hand’. I want you to get it.”

 

Zeo: “Why do you need it?”

 

Salazaar sighed.

 

Salazaar: “Anyone who takes possess of that gauntlet, he gets an incredible power. I will use that power to defeat the king. And you will be my Highlords.”

 

Zeo sat looked at Salazaar, confused. A Highlord? Him? He turned his gaze to Walt. He was wearing a blue coat this time. Walter did not look confused, but curious. He wanted to know more, same as his friend.

 

Salazaar: “Take anything you need and go. The closet behind you contains equipment. Go and take it.”

 

Walter got to the closet first, and opened it up. He opened his backpack, and started packing. He took a grappling hook, a bottle of poison and some fresh clothes. It was Zeo’s turn to pick. He took some throwing daggers, a bow and some arrows, some clothes, and a map to guide them.

 

Walter: “We are ready, master.”

 

Salazaar: “Good. Leave now.”

 

Walter and Zeo stood up at the same time. Walter opened the door, letting Zeo go outside first. Zeo went downstairs, and reached the inn door. He waved to the innkeeper, and he went out with Walter. They turned around, but saw two blades on their necks.

 

Man 1: “Come with us. Resistance is not needed. Come peacefully and don’t be harmed. Resist and you shall die. We know you are the members of “The Black Dragons”.”

 

Man 2: “We need some answers. Follow us. If you try to run, you’ll feel somethin’ sharp in your backs.”

 

Zeo and Walter followed the men, surprised by this visit. What answers do they need? And who are they?
