Let There Be None

When God, in his heaven

Was creating the man,

He wondered and paced,

Pondered and thought,

“Oh what, oh what,

Should a man’s heart be of?”

One angel said, “Gold,

“So he may be prized!”

Another said, “Stone,

“So he may be strong!”

A third said, “Flesh,

“So he may have joy!”

But the fourth said, “None,

“So he won’t be hurt.”

Yeah, I wrote this.

Buddha is a figurehead Meti.

They do not praise him or what have you... (If they do, it probably is just about general respect).

Its all about enlightenment which has nothing to do with a god or deity...

Agnostic =/= Buddhist...

Buddhist is one who praises Buddha.

Agnostic is one who either of the following:

-Believes in a higher being' date=' but does not worship or praise.

or

-Does not believe in a higher being or diety or anything spiritual, but does not deny the possibility of an existing power or being or diety.

[/quote']

Buddhism denies the power and perfection of God.

Therefore, in a sense, it is agnosticism.

Buddhism does not require you to believe in its spiritual aspects.

I see nothing wrong with being Buddhist and agnostic at the same time.

Buddhist is one who praises Buddha.

Incorrect.

Buddhism is one who follows the teachings of the Buddha. Holding the Buddha in reverence is an incorrect following of Buddhism, commonly made by white people who are new to the religion. It is the practice of compassion, of others, and most of all, for self, for there is none who deserves ones praise more than ones self. It is the practice of meditation, because meditation helps achieve peace of mind and internal serenity. It is living a life to understand the world around you, to understand that it is connected, and to become one with it. (to be enlightened)

Once you can get a swan to swim over to you by doing nothing more than meditating silently, then claim that your knowledge of Buddhism is greater than mine. Once you can fully understand that we live in a world where individualism is just an illusion created by society to establish social class and hierarchy, then claim you understand what is key to Buddhistic beliefs.

The idea of God being conscious or unconscious in Buddhism is not clearly defined in the broad spectrum of Buddhism. I personally believe that it is not conscious, and I'm pretty sure that Marty is simply stating that she is not sure as to which, but will deny neither without proof.

On the Poem: Amazing use of words to describe the way human beings feel. I really like how you used the Christianic interpretation of god to base the poem, it made it more interesting to read, especially coming from you. What inspired you to write this?, because I know that writing those last two lines had to come from some sort of event out of the norm.

Beautiful comment.

I don't quite remember the context...

I was probably feeling mopey, even though I knew there was no point.

Like, moping is a waste of time, but I have to do it anyway, just because...

The heart wants what the heart wants.

Time to take this thread to the next level.

We don't want them, we want everything

We’ve stolen in this suffering

And we told them to want everything

But use caution in what you believe

And the haunted, deny everything

Controlling in this suffering

When they’re broken, and lost everything

They're so much easier to lead

Take their hope away

Take their life away

Leave them nothing left inside

When you’re own have died

When there's no more pride

When your soul is frozen

Is that enough

When your heart is broken

A thousand times

With every moment

Is that enough?

Without warning, we take everything

Undaunted in this suffering

The dark forces surround everything

Make it impossible to see

Take their hope away

Take their life away

Leave them nothing left inside

When you’re own have died

When there's no more pride

When your soul is frozen

Is that enough

When your heart is broken

A thousand times

With every moment

Is that enough?

Haven't they suffered enough, Haven't we suffered enough

Haven't they suffered enough, The Damage more than they can bare

Haven't they suffered enough, Haven't we suffered enough

Haven't they suffered enough, The Damage more than they can bare

Did they even have the reason why

Countless sons and daughters had to die

Can you even comprehend the pain

Tell me when your

Own have died

When there's no more pride

When your soul is frozen

Is that enough

When your heart is broken

A thousand times

With every moment

Is that enough?

When you’re own have died (have died)

When there's no more pride (no more pride)

When your soul is frozen

Is that enough (Is that enough)

When your heart is broken

A thousand times

With every moment

Is that enough?

Discuss. If you don't see the comparison, then you're not reading hard enough
