Some Tips for Card Making

That "1st card kill kill kill btw i am da best" thread was horrible.

Really horrible.

Everything was wrong about the card.

And the topic creator claimed that he was the best, just because it is a overtly powerful card (and the picture was cool, at least to him).

Well. It was powerful. Too powerful.

Tip 1: If you're new to YCM and are reading this, I should tell you that overpowered cards are looked down upon in YCM, more so than underpowered cards.

Also, what's with all of the Normal Monsters with 4000 to 9999 ATK and DEF these days?

If you know the rules of the game, then you should know that they need 2 Tributes. You may say it's balanced because it has 2 Tributes. Well, let me tell you. Trbiutes are slightly easy to come by if you have the right cards, and 2 Tributes may not be as much of a drawback than it seems (Treeborn Frog and Samsara Lotus say hello).

Tip 2: Don't make cards with a sky-high ATK and DEF, unless they have some convoluted drawbacks or set of drawbacks. Drawbacks include:

-Being a Synchro or a completely average Fusion Monster.

-Have the ATK as low with the DEF at high, or having the DEF as low with the ATK at high, and forcing the monster to change Battle Positions easily.

-Making your opponent draw cards.

-Having a ridiculous summoning condition.

I don't know if this has gone away from YCM yet, but...

Tip 3: Don't make a monster a Synchro Monster just because the monster is cool! Synchro Monsters are monsters, like every other card. They're not reserved.

This may be part of the infestation of convolutedly powerful Normal Monsters.

Tip 4: Don't make your card a Normal Monster just because you want to have some flavor text! Myself, being unorthodox, can and will place some flavor text onto an Effect Monster. Try it, unless it's supposed to be a Normal Monster in every aspect.

This is a guide aimed at newbs and noobs. Criticism is appreciated. Any thoughts? (And move this if it's in the wrong section.)
