Pikachu was originally thought of around 1996. Pikachu was one of the first Pokemon sprites ever created, and by far the most contreversial out of the six. When Pokemon was first released to the Gameboy, players had the option of capturing Pikachu as thier own Pokemon. In 1997, the first episode of the Pokemon Anime was released feturing Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu. Although Pikachu rejects Ash at first, they soon become best friends. The Anime certainley boosted the popularity of Pokemon and Pikachu. Out of the 151 original Pokemon, the fans decided Pikachu as thier mascot.

Pikachu certainley influenced culture. Since 2000, a Pikachu float has been fetured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A "got milk?" commercial has featured Pikachu, and a 747 that had a picture of Pikachu. Even some copies of Microsoft Office has Pikachu in the default dictionary!

Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition follows a similar storyline to ash in the anime, where you get a Pikachu at the beggining and your are able to get all three starter Pokemon. Additionally, if you have Pikachu in your party, he follows you around and tells you his mood. Pikachu has also appeared on trading cards such as "Surfing Pikachu", "Birthday Pikachu"(Or __________'s Pikachu), "Flying Pikachu", and just plain Pikachu.

Pikachu's Signature moves include; Thunderbolt, Volt Tackle, Iron Tail, and Quick Attack. Some special event Pikachus have the move "Surf" (I have one :P). Even though this cute little mouse has bcome widely known, some people think it is evil. Nonetheless, Pikachu has become known all around the world. This beloved cartoon character has touched many children's hearts and has a special place in ours.

ok here is a groudon revew

Groudon is modeled after the Earth's land, as shown by the rocky plates on its back. It is colored red, possibly a reference to its relation with volcanoes. Its body is modeled after a behemoth, a creature of legends and religious texts (particularly the Bible) that ruled the land. It has red armor plating with a gray belly and spikes running from its head down to its tail. Also Groudon is a genderless species.

Groudon has the ability Drought, which causes constant bright sunlight similar to the effects of Sunny Day whenever the Pokémon is in battle. Like Kyogre, the strong sunlight lasts for 5 turns after Groudon leaves the battle.

Groudon is slow, stoic, and heavy (2094 pounds--a little over a ton), this super-heavyweight created the land, according to Hoenn legend. It appears in Ruby version normally (fighting/catching it is a major plot element), but does not appear in Sapphire. In Emerald, it is available after beating the Elite Four.

now wheres my rep?

I was never a Pikachu fan. I started watching the show almost as soon as it came out, my first episode being his adventures in the Viridian Forest (the second episode of the first season). I thought it was a pretty good show so I watched and watched and watched. I realized I wasn't a Pikachu fan when Ash's Pikachu beat out Brock's Onix, simply because his electricity was "too strong".

I started playing the video game, pokemon blue and eventually pokemon yellow when it came out. Pikachu was never able to do the thing's that Ash's did, and while I understand that necessary for the storyline of the show, I found it to be extremely inconsistent between the writers and the game creators.

Pikachu is a versitile pokemon yes, with a great amount of popularity, but he is over used. I personally love using a Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu (when I finally evolve it completely) and have always enjoyed training and using him, because of his special attack and speed statistics.

While Pikachu has reached global fame, so have a few other pokemon that weren't mentioned. Those are Meowth, Jigglypuff, Snorlax, Chansey, Psyduck, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur.

Recently, with the creation of Diamond and Pearl, and its rage to fame, Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig have achieved almost the same level of fame as their predecessors.

Pikachu is neat and has made pokemon what it is today, but its fame is over-rated in my opinion. At the end of the day, he still doesn't compare to a world of other pokemon that are available.

He may be a mascot, but he certainly isn't a flagship to pokemon.
