Dark
As for Spiritomb, it technically is a bad Pokemon other than its no type advantage thing. But if you supe it up with Wonder Guard power using hacks, you got yourself one awesome Pokemon. PS- Can Toxic work on a Spiritomb w/ Wonder Guard? Death Metal
Pokemon isn't what it use to be. After the 2nd gen it went something like this.
2sick4u
Gengar is still the man though. Many wifi battles still use Gengar' date=' just because he is extremely fast and has high Special Attack power. [b']I agree. Most people would disregard Gengar for Starmie, or even sometimes Sceptile for Sp. ATK and speed, but Gengar does it best. Mainly because of the Psychic/Giga drain/ Thunderbolt etc. Sp. Atk move pool he possesses.[/b] And Sableye really isn't an issue - he may have no weaknesses, but he isn't terribly resistant to much either. The only types he resists are Psychic(immune), Fighting(immune), Normal(immune), and Poison(resistant). Any other type of attack can hit him just fine, and just because he isn't WEAK to it doesn't mean jack squat. His stats are relatively poor, allowing pokemon like Gengar to walk all over him. Actually, Gengar only triumphs over Sableye through Gengar's toxic immunity. Sableye's not made to attack, rather nullify super-effective hits, and minimize the strength of x1 (Normal.) Hits. If Gengar were to be in lack of his poison attribute, Sableye would be able to walk all over him. A generic non-STAB attack from Gengar cannot OHKO a defensively trained Sableye. With luck, Sableye can simply use a basic moveset.. Like.. Confuse Ray.Moonlight.Toxic.Seismic Toss. Simply, dependent upon the damage of Gengar's first attack, Sableye would follow up with Confuse Ray, and hope for some insecure luck, or simply toxic if the damage to Sableye was less than 50% of health. After the first step, which is really the only one that halts Sableye, you merely Toxic, Moonlight, and Seismic Toss with recovering when necessary. 100-Seismic Toss damage adding in with Toxic build-up is win, considering it'd take 2 Seismic Toss's with Toxic to kill the average Pokemon. (This is inclusive of Recovery time, as well, so Toxic would be packing a punch by this point.) People underestimate it, therefore they do not take care in the fainting of Sableye. =/. Or maybe I'm just a firm believer that under-rated pokemon can be used for the win. Spiritomb is like Sableye, but likewise, is far from unbeatable. Concurred, Sableye's no Gengar, as Genger has a pretty spectacular array of resistance in itself, but Sableye shouldn't be dismissed without thought, either. Decided to address you, since you've proven you actually know a thing or two about competitive Pokemon play. =). Also, the mention of Steel types is win. Bronzong's my dream. <3. Yes, I'm a tank styled guy, sue me. =D.

MasterOfMagicians
For your information: Ghost type pokemon are weak to psychic type pokemon. When combined with Dark type pokemon they are strong yes, but not unstoppable.Any elemental attack would deal great amount of damage onto a ghost/dark type pokemon. When Psychic and Fighting won't work (due to the balancing effect), Ice, Fire, Electric, and other Ghost and Dark type attacks will do wonders against them. Ghost-type attacks are doubly effective against Ghost-type pokemon, and while only being 1/2 as effective against Dark types, it still balances out to do a good deal of damage. #2) Sableye is not a legendary, nor will it ever become a legendary. Its base stats are too low, plus it can breed.
Zexaeon
For your information: Ghost type pokemon are weak to psychic type pokemon. No' date=' they are not. Psychic is weak to Ghost, not the other way around. Ghost is weak to Dark and itself, and resists Poison and Bug, and is immune to Fighting and Normal. =/ Once again, you show you do not know your type match-ups. When combined with Dark type pokemon they are strong yes, but not unstoppable.Any elemental attack would deal great amount of damage onto a ghost/dark type pokemon. No, that is also untrue. The amount of damage an attack deals to a Pokemon isn't solely based on typing, the way you think it is. It's based mainly on the Pokemon's defensive stats. As 2Sick pointed out, a defensively trained Sableye is more than capable of taking a few hits, and is also capable of restoring its own health. When Psychic and Fighting won't work (due to the balancing effect)' date=' Ice, Fire, Electric, and other Ghost and Dark type attacks will do wonders against them.[/quote'] No, again, you are wrong. Ghost will do neutral damage against Sableye/Spiritomb, and Dark will also do neutral. On top of that, most Dark Types are unfortunately low-powered, meaning without a 2X boost from a super effective hit, their damaging capability is lacking. This isn't true for ALL Dark-type attacks, but most. And again, a Defensive EV spread can work against high damaging attacks. Ghost-type attacks are doubly effective against Ghost-type pokemon' date=' and while only being 1/2 as effective against Dark types, it still balances out to do a good deal of damage.[/quote'] That's the first correct thing you've said so far, at least the first part is. But again, Sableye and Spiritomb are typically defensive, so unless your Pokemon has a very Special Attack stat, it won't do more than average damage at best. Lazer Yoshi
Dark/Ghost Pokemon do have a big advantage with no weaknesses. However, they are kinda weak, the only good thing being the moves they learn. Therefore, they are not too cheap. But having a Spiritomb with Wonderguard
