Halloween is rooted in ancient Pagan mythology as a rite of warding off evil spirits. If we aren't getting off school even for Ramadan or Hanukkah or any of that, why would we get off for dead Pagan beliefs?

I have to work on halloween, although the command usually dismisses all of us early so we can be with our families (if we have them) and get the kids out trick-or-treating before all the drunks get on the road.
