If the video doesn't load, click the middle of the video and it will link to the original. At that point, go back to the original link and it should work, or at least that's how it has to for my browser (firefox).

Discuss the ideas in this video.

Is this something we should pursue?

Would it be wrong to use Human brains for such purposes?

Do you think using the neurons means that consciousness exists in the "cyborg" and is thus "trapped" inside it?

If this is true, is it cruel to trap ones conscious after their death?

Immediately assess the situation.

I'm amazed they were able to pull this off.

Resolve: GET F-CKING CREMATED, or die from Hallucinogenic OD (if such a thing exists that isn't technically suicide) so all your neurons are in an unusable disarray.

No way am I going to have my brain saved so that they can use my neurons to do menial work, especially if it makes me conscious of my useless existence.

These people need to be stopped.

One would think with all your claims of Euthanasia and doing things efficiently Static, you would like this o.O...

I just hope all those words you say are for the sake of debating.

Anyway...

My skin crawled watching this, and yet I was curious. I do not wanna see this happen with Human Brains. But for anything like a Bird etc, me dun care (just not canines, felines and other domestic animals)...

I have a few questions:

1) How do they sustain the brain?

2) How do they know they hooked the brain up right?

3) If it is powered by a rat brain, then why is there an RC antenea on the back?

It is a hoax. But, on the topic, people should be able to transplant their brain into a robot. How well it will succeed is another question.

I agree 100%. F--kers like these make me sick. I hope they rot inside the infinite gates of hell.

^^ Well... Here's the thing.

They put you in a robot that is not CAPABLE of destroying itself, or perhaps parts of the robot that can induce certain things to the conscious to make it do work and feel useless.

Releasing the conscious. That is what I would do, for the barrier between life and death is little, it is just returning to the world around you.

However... Using their conscious to do labor while they should be dead would be beyond dissatisfaction of anything. In general, I push what I would be willing to do, I would die, I would lead, I'd live as a heretic or saint, but I sure as hell would not live an existence with no meaning or value, I'd live one if I was taught to have a meaning and value that is different than my own currently, but not this.

Ah... I've heard of this. And unlike the rest of you, I'm not utterly creeped out.

I know we shall pursue this technology in due course, no matter how Mary Shelly dislikes it. Mine only request is that they develop suitable - not to mention aesthetically pleasing - cyborgs ideal for the preservation of human neurons first.

And, yes, make such a procedure available for those who want it. That's not to say I want it (I don't); I only want to give a chance for those who want to see the world after their original bodies die and rot.

I understand some people's dreams are to live forever (I know I would), and some will do anything to cheat death, but this is wrong.

After death, your conscious is forever in a state of eternal rest. It is not for us to decide to wake that conscious back up.

Some people feel they have lived a good life and see no need to go on any further. As Tabris said, you want to make a procedure for this, do it only for the volunteers
