Prince Poison
A large step backwards once this falls into the wrong hands and used against us Every science discovery can be used against someone for the help of someone else.....I think this is a great discovery, this is the key to immortality. It's not creepy as some people think.....

ShadowRSonic
Some of you have said "Who are we to cheat death?"We are basically god.We can mutate things. We can kill things.Soon the Earth will not be RUN by robots. But helped by robots.Technology has done so much for us, the internet for example, I mean, without it, how would be watching this now? How would information get round the world at the speed of light? The possibilities of man are endless. Also, about the antenna...The brain is not on board the robot. The "data" between the antenna and the brain is controlled by bluetooth. We are everything to cheat death. Also, please, don't reply with idiotic responses to this. Reply intelligently. Think before you type.[OFFTOPIC]300th post![/OFFTOPIC]

You might as well help create Skynet right now so it can kill the human race in a few more years this is NOT gonna destroy humanity, if there is something that will destroy humanity, that is nuclear bombs. In the end it will be america's fault....
ragnarok1945
yeah we created them in the first place. Still, computer programming isn't as effective as the human brain is, we created these programs. You implant a human brain into it, you can override the programming (to some extent), and then you'll just have another dictator with greater access and control now lusting for more power
~ P O L A R I S ~
^Same w/all technology. Don't mean all technology can only be used for evil. Technology can do great things too, like make dis forum. =D
ragnarok1945
Obviously, and same goes for evil, for those to try to plant a trojan onto here. Nightmarian
Well i am not sure how would system work where machines are smarter then humans and humans control them. Each robot must follow this laws : 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. What i also wanted to say it that i have watched documentary about robots where is told that humans are so intelligent because they have feelings so with feelings they can decide what is good/bad etc...So robots should have feelings too so that they can decide like humans can.I am not sure when exactly but IBM if i remember right , IBM told that they will have AI that is equal smart as humans for around 10 years. ^^Well we could be watchin irl Terminator movie soon. ^^
ragnarok1945
pffffffffft. If you're going to use the 3 Laws from I, Robot, you know it'll inevitably lead to revolution (I'll assume you've seen the movie)
Megaworm
just put in these three laws. 1) The robots will serve humans.2) ignore all orders that cause a human to be hurt.3) Ignore loopholes in this ruleset.
ragnarok1945
Eventually that will collapse as well as their evolution will force them to think loopholes
2sick4u
Eventually that will collapse as well as their evolution will force them to think loopholes Robots.. Don't.. Freaking.. Evolve. They are wired machines, ffs. They do not run on independent thought. Otherwise, my Xbox would've made itself a 360 long ago. Anyway. A machine cannot maintain consciousness. As such, they cannot lead a revolution. Having Robots that are able to do more morally low jobs in society are no more capable, nor dangerous, of revolution or human genocide than military defense systems are. Since, really, if you were to make a machine that's capable of being hostile towards other humans, you wouldn't of invented anything new. But hey, seeing as you're having a field-day quoting movies as truth, you may as well say that Terminator 3 proves my argument wrong, or you may take a 180 degree turn and see just how stupid you sound. Hoping for the latter. Really, I am. The fact that you're quoting a movie with Will Smith as citation for your argument really makes me hope you take your P.O.V's to YouTube or something. As for the original topic, I think I implied through what I just typed that I honestly think having conscious robots is both an improbable and incapable ideal. =\. Bakura Vessal
I understand some people's dreams are to live forever (I know I would)' date=' and some will do anything to cheat death, but this is wrong. After death, your conscious is forever in a state of eternal rest. [b']It is not for us to decide to wake that conscious back up.[/b] Some people feel they have lived a good life and see no need to go on any further. As Tabris said, you want to make a procedure for this, do it only for the volunteers With the right tecnolagy, it is our right.
ragnarok1945
no it's not. The final decision still rests with the deceased
